Regional Lead, Market Access & Public Affairs (WESTERN CANADA )
We are currently looking for an experienced Market Access & Public Affairs professional for the Western Canada regions to join the Lundbeck Market Access & Public Affairs team. This position is a field based permanent full-time role. The ideal candidate will be based in the province of Alberta or British Columbia.
Your Position:
Working collaboratively with the Market Access team and the cross-functional teams, the Regional Lead, Market Access & Public Affairs, assists with the development and implementation of a strategic plan to shape, influence and attain reimbursement of Lundbeck’s products and forge collaborative relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. public and private payers, key opinion leaders (KOLs) and patient advocacy groups).
Market Access (Public & Private payers): (70%)
- Use solid market access experience to implement plans and gain rapid, broad and optimal public and private reimbursement for Lundbeck products with targeted accounts.
- Establish contacts and liaise with targeted provincial drug plan and private payer stakeholders to continually improve reimbursement, identify business opportunities, resolve issues, expand our network of contacts, and raise Lundbeck’s profile.
- Develop innovative ways to overcome reimbursement challenges and use superior negotiation and influence skills to obtain optimal reimbursement conditions.
Government Relations and Stakeholders Management: (30%)
- Identify, map, and engage with ecosystem partners including provincial and private market access stakeholders, patient advocacy associations and professional medical societies.
- Use a multi-stakeholders approach to implement initiatives that support a favorable environment to operate in, with focus on access, pricing and reimbursement.
- Represent Lundbeck on relevant industry committees.
- Work with relevant scientific and patient associations to ensure a clear understanding of the unmet needs related to the disease areas of interest for Lundbeck’s business; work towards gaining their support to participate in relevant tactics and to advocate where appropriate for the needs of the communities we support.
- Organize and participate in relevant industry events to maintain an up-to-date and strong working knowledge of the reimbursement environment and changing trends. Share this knowledge with Lundbeck colleagues.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher. Outstanding oral and written English communication skills.
- 8+ years of experience in the Canadian pharmaceutical industry including a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Market Access role or a similar stakeholders engagement role.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian pharmaceutical reimbursement and pricing issues, policies, and trends.
- Proven track record of obtaining public and private reimbursement.
- 2 years in Sales and/or Marketing (an asset).
- Experience in Neurology and/or Rare Diseases (an important asset).
- Strong strategic thinker, with a growth mindset and an ability to translate complex strategies into actionable plans that generate results.
- Strong portfolio management skills and ability to objectively frame, analyze and resolve trade offs between projects.
- Ability to quickly develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with varied internal and external stakeholders
Working Conditions:
- Field based: Yes.
- Evening/weekend commitments: Occasionally but not the norm.
- Travel commitments: There will be a moderate degree of travel associated with this position.
- % travel required: 30% to 40%.
