Medical Science Liaison (MSL) MADRID

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will play a critical role in driving Lundbeck’s medical strategy for our products and therapeutic areas within neurology and psychiatry. You will provide high-quality, tailored scientific support and ensure that healthcare professionals have access to the latest evidence-based information on our medicines and disease areas.

Your new role

You will collaborate closely with Area Managers, Sales Representatives and Market Access teams to develop and execute annual medical work plans tailored to the specific needs of your territory. You will accompany colleagues on key customer visits when in-depth scientific discussions are needed, act as a scientific reference for external experts, and support initiatives that improve clinical practice and health outcomes.

In this role, you will maintain rigorous medical communication, ensure adherence to ethical principles, current regulations and internal processes, and proactively identify clinical needs and environmental trends to inform our internal medical strategies. By doing so, you will help shape the future of care for patients living with brain diseases across Iberia.

Your future team

The Medical & Regulatory team is part of the Lu-Iberia Business Unit. You will join a dedicated, science-driven and collaborative team focused on supporting healthcare professionals and optimizing patient outcomes in complex neurological and psychiatric conditions.

Our culture is rooted in curiosity, respect and purpose – we work cross-functionally with Sales, Market Access, Marketing, Compliance and Medical Advisors to ensure alignment with Lundbeck’s scientific and strategic goals. We value openness, integrity and teamwork, and we support each other in delivering high-quality medical activities in the field.

The position is based in Barcelona, Spain, with responsibility across Iberia.

What you bring to the team

We are looking for a candidate with a strong scientific background, solid communication skills and a genuine interest in improving care for people living with brain diseases.

You bring:

  • A degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology or another relevant life sciences field
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role or within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry (e.g., MSL, medical affairs, clinical or scientific role)
  • Proven ability to communicate scientific and medical information effectively to diverse audiences
  • Experience collaborating with Sales and/or Market Access teams while maintaining scientific rigor and compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with healthcare professionals and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful clinical insights
  • A proactive, self-driven mindset, high ethical standards and a strong sense of teamwork
  • Experience in neurology, neuroscience or rare diseases is a strong advantage, but not a strict requirement.
