Value & Patient Access Lead

 

Your new role

 

Reporting to the Value & Patient Access Director, the Value & Patient Access Lead (V&P AP) will be responsible for defining and executing strategic and tactical plans that ensure optimal, timely, and sustainable market access for Lundbeck’s portfolio.

The role will drive the implementation and continuous development of the Market Access and Business Evidence Strategy, defining access approaches at national, regional, and local levels to maximize patient access and portfolio value.

 

The position will also play a key role in pricing management across Spain and Portugal, tender coordination, and providing strategic support to Patient Access and Government Affairs initiatives.

 

 

Key Responsibilities and Working Relationships

 

  • Define and implement the Market Access strategy aligned with Lundbeck’s global objectives and business priorities.
  • Develop a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of the market access environment for each brand.
  • Design and execute brand-specific access strategies and tactics, in coordination with Global, Medical, Regulatory, and Commercial teams.
  • Prepare and present new value propositions in collaboration with cross-functional teams (Medical, Commercial, etc.).
  • Lead the operational execution of access plans, supporting local initiatives and ensuring consistent, effective implementation.
  • Continuously monitor market access performance, review outcomes, and update the strategic access plan for each product.
  • Provide leadership and support in tender processes, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with the commercial strategy.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of market access policies, pricing and reimbursement regulations, and ongoing legislative developments.
  • Conduct competitive intelligence to monitor the environment around each brand, as well as health authority actions and policy trends in Spain and Portugal.
  • Track the impact of pricing and reimbursement processes on the portfolio and propose measures to minimize negative effects.
  • Integrate pricing perspectives into the definition of the Target Medicine Profile (TMP) and molecule value proposition from early clinical phases.
  • Actively contribute to the development of internal pricing proposals supporting Global Market Access submissions.
  • Participate in the definition of pricing and negotiation strategies across the product portfolio.
  • Develop and articulate value propositions for new medicines, in coordination with global and local stakeholders.
  • Prepare and update documentation related to pricing and reimbursement procedures for the Ministry of Health.
  • Drive patient-centered projects and generate evidence of the clinical and social value of Lundbeck therapies.
  • Collaborate closely with Public Affairs to integrate institutional and environmental perspectives into the overall access strategy.

 

What you bring to the team

 

Education and Experience:

  • University degree (advanced degree preferred).
  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in Market Access, Pricing, and/or Public Affairs within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare, political, and economic environment, as well as pricing management and policy frameworks.
  • Solid knowledge of market access and reimbursement models across different levels of the healthcare system.
  • Excellent command of English (both written and spoken).
