Since integrating into Lundbeck in October 2019, Lu-SBP has supported commercial launch of Lundbeck’s first biologic product (Vyepti) and advancement of a growing biologics pipeline in collaboration with our Copenhagen-based Process Science & Validation Team. The Lu-SBP team leads and supports the development of new product candidates from cell line development through commercial validation of Drug Substance and Drug Product manufacturing processes. Lundbeck Seattle Biopharmaceuticals (LuSBP) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Analytical Development Department as a summer intern, participating in qualification of analytical method for biopharmaceutical products. The successful candidate will learn cation exchange chromatography (CEX) theory, operation of UPLC instrument, wet chemistry lab skills, data analysis with Empower software, chromatography data interpretation, and documentation of experimental results using an electronic lab notebook (ELN).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Communicate and collaborate within Analytical Development and cross-functional areas (Upstream, Downstream, Formulation Development, and Quality Control)
• Operate Waters UPLC instrument
• Perform common laboratory calculations for buffer preparation and sample preparation
• Conduct wet chemistry procedures
• Perform data analysis with Empower software and MS Excel
• Assist in maintenance of lab equipment
• Record experimental data using Benchling ELN
• Analyze and communicate scientific results in oral presentations
• Follow laboratory safety guidelines
• Assist with tasks within Analytical Development
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• Enrolled towards a BS or equivalent degree in physical or life sciences (chemistry, biochemistry, biology, etc.)
• Enthusiastic attitude, team spirit, and willingness to learn
• Attention to detail
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• Completed introductory Analytical Chemistry coursework
• Some laboratory experience or basic understanding of laboratory principles and techniques.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Proficiency with MS programs and tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.
