We are looking for a person with the right mix of project management skills, insight into digital solutions and complex IT setup and in addition an interest in working with sourcing and procurement. Your new role
We offer the right candidate an exciting job opportunity within our Indirect Procurement team. As a Category Manager, you work across a range of sourcing and contracting activities across our global IT setup, both directly relating to our Global IT organisation, but also across the Lundbeck line of business, all well supported by your category team members. No two days are the same, yet some of the primary activities our Digital Solutions Procurement team embarks on are category strategy development, category and project portfolio planning and execution, building and issuing RFXs, as well as negotiating contracts.
Your future team
Corporate Procurement is a global function consisting of +40 ambitious and passionate colleagues located in Copenhagen, Krakow and Chicago. Together we secure a professional and efficient source-to-pay process across the full Lundbeck value chain. We take outset in our highly integrated Category Management processes and deliver value through our structured approach to strategy development, category planning, sourcing project execution as well as stakeholder- and supplier management. We ensure spend transparency, compliance and efficient business partnering through procurement systems, well defined procedures and most importantly solid cross functional collaboration. We believe in ongoing development of teams and team members. With a good mix of experience, Lundbeck insights and diverse competencies across the team we develop each other just as we learn from external innovation and best-practices.
The position is based in Valby/Copenhagen, Denmark, and will be a temporary position lasting until end of 2025. For the right candidate, we would love to be able to turn this into a permanent position.
What you bring to the team
Our new Category Manager will join a team of 2 Category Managers, 1 Associate Category Manager and 1 Lead Buyer within the Indirect Procurement team. We work individually as well as in teams where sparring and mutual support are key in the way we interact.
As a Category Manager within Digital Solutions, you will:
- Drive Category Strategy development, planning and execution in close collaboration with the Category Team related to the sourcing activities within our Digital Solutions subcategories, globally across Lundbeck
- Manage sourcing projects and processes, hereunder run RFPs, negotiate contracts in close alignment with Lundbeck’s line of business and management – all based on category management methodology
- Participate in lifecycle management of the relevant contract portfolio and strategic vendor relations, ensuring continued commercial and legal governance and value generation
- Take part in the close collaboration with internal key stakeholders to secure project and strategy alignment
- Ensure quality & timelines, overall compliance, intellectual property, liability requirements and overall Lundbeck long term interests across the contract portfolio.
How your colleagues would describe you
We are looking for the following qualifications in our temporary Category Manager:
- Project management skills demonstrated through a minimum of 3 years’ experience managing projects either in or related to IT or digital solutions in a global organisation
- Profound understanding of the overall IT portfolio of a global company
- Business partnering skills, ability to influence and an emphatic mind-set
- An interest in building or further building your procurement skills (project management, negotiations, legal understanding, data analysis and Category Management)
- A Master’s Degree from a University or Business School relevant to the position
- Solid analytical skills, attention to detail and a structured approach
- The ability to manage many projects and tasks simultaneously with a high drive
- English fluency, verbally and written.
