Category Manager, Facility Management
Are you looking for an opportunity to influence strategic procurement decisions in a company with a clear purpose? At Lundbeck, our Procurement organization plays a critical role in delivering value across the full value chain — from early research to the commercialization of our products — helping us improve the lives of millions of people living with brain diseases.
Your new role – why is this a great opportunity?
As Category Manager for Facility Management, you will play a key role in shaping how Lundbeck manages and invests in our global workplaces and technical infrastructure.
This is a unique opportunity to professionalize and mature Facility Management through strong category management discipline — ensuring our facilities, services, and energy management continuously support Lundbeck’s growth, sustainability ambitions, and employee experience.
This is a highly collaborative role with end-to-end responsibility for the Facility Management category — covering real estate and workplace services, energy procurement, technical and maintenance consumables (MRO-type spend), and a wide range of facility services. Working closely with stakeholders across Facilities and HSE, Sustainability, and Finance, you will contribute to key decisions that support Lundbeck’s long-term operational and sustainability ambitions, as well as the overall employee experience.
Your future team
You will join Lundbeck’s Corporate Procurement team — a global function of over 60 ambitious and passionate colleagues located in Copenhagen, Krakow, and Chicago. Together, we secure a professional and efficient source-to-pay process across the full Lundbeck value chain.
We foster a culture built on curiosity, adaptability, and accountability — encouraging our colleagues to challenge the status quo, learn continuously, and take ownership of their impact.
What you bring to the team
As Category Manager for Facility Management, you will:
- Develop and implement a strategic category approach for Facility Management — setting direction across workplace & real estate services, energy, technical consumables, and facility operations
- Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders to ensure the category supports Lundbeck’s long-term operational and sustainability goals
- Engage and develop strategic supplier partnerships that go beyond transactional sourcing — fostering collaboration, innovation, and shared accountability for outcomes
- Establish governance, performance metrics, and reporting frameworks to strengthen transparency, compliance, and supplier performance
- Use market insights and data to identify opportunities for efficiency, cost optimization, and continuous improvement
- Drive sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives as a core element of the category strategy
- Champion a mindset of curiosity, adaptability, and accountability — continuously seeking smarter, more agile ways of working and encouraging a culture of learning and ownership
How your colleagues would describe you
We seek the following qualifications in our future Category Manager:
- Experience in category management or strategic sourcing, ideally within Facility Management, Real Estate, Technical Services, or related operational categories
- Proven ability to develop and execute category strategies that balance cost, quality, risk, and sustainability
- Able to navigate complex setups with a solution-oriented and structured mindset, taking accountability for your work and results
- Curious about how workplaces and services can evolve to support people and performance — always seeking smarter, more sustainable solutions
- Adaptable and resilient, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a dynamic, global environment
- Skilled at building trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Comfortable negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships with a long-term perspective
- Bring a global outlook and are used to working in cross-functional, international teams
- Communicate clearly and diplomatically — adapting your style to different audiences
