Category Manager – Group Sourcing

We offer the right candidate an exciting job opportunity within our Technical Sourcing team managing a significant portfolio of key suppliers and a global category spend of +MDKK 300. To succeed with the category and its many projects, we are looking for an experienced and talented Category Manager to head activities here and across our international sites.

 

Description

 

Group Sourcing consists of 30 ambitious and enthusiastic Category Managers and Tactical Buyers securing a professional and efficient source-to-pay process across Lundbeck’s global Direct and Indirect spend. We take outset in our strongly integrated Category Management processes and deliver value through our structured approach to planning, project execution and supplier management.

 

Your job and key responsibilities

 

Our new Category Manager will join a team of 4 Category Managers and 3 Tactical Buyers within the department of Indirect & Technical Sourcing. We work individually as well as in teams where sparring and mutual support are key in the way we interact. We are a homogeneous team of highly professional and ambitious colleagues who also remember that a work day needs to be fun and social.

 

As a member of the team, you will:

  • Develop and execute stakeholder aligned sourcing strategies within the R&D, Lab Consumables, Warehousing & Logistics categories
  • Collaborate closely with internal key stakeholders to secure strategy and project alignment
  • Establish and develop key supplier relationships facilitating continued optimization of TCO
  • Drive and manage sourcing projects utilizing category management methodology
  • Ensure quality, compliance (e.g. CSR, GxP) and regulatory requirements.

 

You will be meeting needs and demands from multiple stakeholders across Lundbeck globally. This means that you will drive/lead/support sourcing processes and activities (research and analysis, Rfx, negotiations, contracts and implementation) locally as well as internationally. You will manage your category responsibilities through the establishment, development and execution of relevant category strategies and ensure long term value and compliance through supplier and stakeholder management.

 

Qualifications

 

We are looking for the following qualifications in our future Category Manager:

 

  • A Master or Bachelor Degree from a Business School or University (E.g. Cand Merc, BA, HD or similar)
  • Highly developed business partnering skills, ability to influence and an empathetic mind-set
  • Strong basic sourcing skills (project management, negotiation skills, legal understanding, data analysis)
  • At least 3-5 years of experience as a Category Manager, preferable with experience in above mentioned or related categories.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a structured approach to category management
  • The ability to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with e-sourcing and preferably Ariba
  • A keen interest for Sourcing and in continuously developing your skill set
  • English fluency, verbally and written
