Your new role
The Clinical Pharmacology Senior Specialist is a critical member of the Clinical Pharmacology department within Experimental Medicine, which is part of Global Clinical Development. This position will be part of an organization responsible for translating pre-clinical research into early clinical development strategies that support the global development of both small molecules and biologics.
You will be accountable for developing and executing clinical pharmacology strategies and will independently represent the department on clinical trials and R&D teams. The role involves strong cross-functional collaboration with internal and external partners, including global regulatory agencies, to advance drug candidates in an efficient and scientifically rigorous manner.
Key responsibilities:
- Participate in development of clinical pharmacology strategies to drive projects through all the stages, from research through post-marketing.
- Design, execute, interpret, and report early-development trials, including first-in-human trials in both patients and healthy participants.
- Serve as the clinical pharmacology lead on trials and project teams, providing subject-matter expertise on data interpretation, participating in dose selection and optimization, advising on trial design, and supporting risk/benefit assessments as needed.
- Advance small molecules and biologics as clinical pharmacology lead through development milestones and marketing applications, including preparation of regulatory documents and participation in regulatory meetings when required.
- Communicate results and their impact in a timely and effective manner to internal and external partners.
- Actively participate in cross-departmental teams, department-wide initiatives and workstreams.

The Clinical Pharmacology department is part of Experimental Medicine and Global Clinical Development at Lundbeck. The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
What you bring to the team
Our preferred candidate brings the following qualifications and capabilities:
- PhD, MD, or MD PhD level preferred.
- Experience in neuroscience and rare diseases is considered a strong asset.
- Experience from the pharmaceutical industry developing and executing strategies for early clinical development and clinical pharmacology data packages for late-stage programs.
- Profound knowledge of scientific methodology and clinical trial design.
- Regulatory experience contributing to IND, End-of-Phase 2, and NDA/BLA submissions.
- A collaborative mindset, with strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Scientifically minded, curious and with an innovative mindset.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Ability to travel 10% to 15%.
