About the team
As our new Data Architect, you will join the growing Business Intelligence & Advanced Analytics (BI&AA) team. The team currently consists of 7 passionate people and is anchored in the Digital Delivery unit (a part of Corporate IT) focusing on bringing digital solutions and data to our more than 5500 colleagues around the world.
The BI&AA team is responsible for products and services related to Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, and Advanced Analytics, ranging from traditional BI to data ingestion, data storage, and data preparation enabling our colleagues performing analytics. We serve/support Lundbeck’s full value chain – from early research, to development, production, sales and supporting functions.
About the role
The role as a data architect in Lundbeck revolves around shaping the way information is gathered and maintained, optimizing how the company understand it and put it to work. As our new Data Architect, your primary role will be to:
- Translate business requirements into technology requirements and define data standards and principles.
- Design effective systems to turn raw data into understandable and actionable insights for decision-makers.
- Co-drive the design of our new enterprise data management strategy
- Monitor and report on the functioning of data systems and rework the architecture to draw on additional data sources and deliver deeper insights
- Integrate data from multiple silos in order to improve processes, predict future problems or gain a better understanding of customers
- Be a technology leader through ongoing research and evaluation of new technologies and techniques and adjust our data architecture accordingly.
You will refer to the Head of Digital Delivery.
The position is based at Lundbeck’s headquarters in Valby, Copenhagen.
Qualifications
We expect that you have 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect or from a similar role. This includes:
- In-depth experience in handling various types of data incl. text, tabular, graph, time-series, geospatial, and image.
- Skilled with big data infrastructures (e.g. Hadoop/Spark ecosystem) and concepts for storing and processing large and/or heterogeneous data volumes
- In-depth experience with business intelligence infrastructure, data analytics, and data visualization frameworks
- Experience with batch or streaming architecture
- The ability to code in both structured languages such as Java, and more flexible, statistically oriented languages such as Python, and working with a range of databases, using both SQL and NoSQL languages is a necessity.
- In addition to programming skills, you have hands-on experience with databases (relational/NoSQL), containerization, and Cloud environments such as AWS or Azure. You are qualified in at least one public cloud data stack
- Experience with designing and developing applications is a major advantage and so is mastering modeling tools like Enterprise Architect, ERWin and Visio.
- Excellent knowledge of data development methodologies and processes as well as DevOps
- Familiar with the area of information security
You also have:
- A high proficiency in problem solving with solid presentation and communication skills
- A dynamic approach to work, teams, and agile frameworks
Finally, you hold minimum a Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Mathematics, or in a comparable field/qualification.
