Data Engineering Specialist, Enterprise Data, Enterprise Digital Enablement

Requisition ID:  7427
Location:

Copenhagen, Danish Capital Region, DK

Data Engineering Specialist, Enterprise Data, Enterprise Digital Enablement

Lundbeck is on a clear journey to become a bionic company—where data, AI, and digital capabilities are embedded in how we make decisions, move faster, and create value.

Enterprise Data plays a strategic enablement role in this journey. We don’t own business outcomes—we enable them by building strong, scalable data foundations, accelerating insight, and working closely with our business partners across the organization.

We are looking for a Data Engineering Specialist to accelerate the delivery of trusted, reusable data products that power Lundbeck’s ambitious BI and AI use cases.

Our core data stack is built on Snowflake and dbt, with SQL and Python as the primary development languages, and is part of a broader ecosystem that includes Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and SAP BW/Datasphere.

Your new role

As a Data Engineering Specialist, you will work hands-on with building, shaping, and operating data products that make data usable, reliable, and easy to consume.

You will collaborate closely with local data teams, BI specialists, business partners, and platform teams to develop scalable source-aligned data products and consumer-ready datasets—with a strong focus on quality, documentation, and usability.

This is a role for someone who enjoys building things that last: robust pipelines, clear models, strong governance-by-design, and patterns that others can reuse.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Build and maintain data pipelines and transformations using dbt, Snowflake, SQL and Python
  • Develop scalable, well-structured data models that support BI, analytics, and data activation use cases
  • Contribute to data product standards (testing, documentation, lineage, versioning) to ensure reliability and trust
  • Accelerate local data teams to work on data platform through hands-on coaching and enablement
  • Collaborate with BI specialists and stakeholders to mature needs and translate needs into clear, usable data outputs through solution data architecture
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to architecture decisions within the data engineering domain

Your future team

You will report to the Head of Data Activation and become a key part of Enterprise Data within Enterprise Digital Enablement. The department brings together Data Engineering, BI, and Data & BI adoption capabilities and is positioned as a strategic enabler—guiding and accelerating how data creates value across Lundbeck.

You will join a data engineering team focused on enablement: building foundations and reusable capabilities that help the organization move faster—without compromising reliability and quality.

You will work closely with the Enterprise Data Platform team to ensure alignment between engineering practices, platform capabilities, and business needs. The environment is collaborative, pragmatic, and focused on outcomes—impact matters more than hierarchy.

The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

What you bring to the team

You are a strong technical contributor who enjoys delivering high-quality data products and collaborating across disciplines. You care about building data that others can trust and use—and you thrive in an environment where success is measured by adoption and impact, not just delivery.

What success looks like:

  • Solid experience working as a data engineer (or in a similar role) within a complex, enterprise environment, with responsibility for building and maintaining data solutions end to end
  • Hands-on experience with modern data transformation and modeling, ideally using dbt and Snowflake or comparable technologies, supported by strong SQL skills and working knowledge of Python
  • A solid understanding of good engineering practices, including testing, documentation, version control, and designing maintainable, scalable solutions
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work closely with BI specialists and business stakeholders to translate business questions into practical data products
  • A pragmatic approach to data engineering—applying standards where they add value and flexibility where it helps teams move faster
  • Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, or cloud platform operations is considered a plus
