Data Platform Engineer, Enterprise Data, Enterprise Digital Enablement

Requisition ID:  7502
Location:

Copenhagen, Danish Capital Region, DK

Data Platform Engineer, Enterprise Data, Enterprise Digital Enablement

Lundbeck is on a clear journey to become a bionic company - where data, AI, and digital capabilities are embedded in how we make decisions, scale responsibly, and create value.

Enterprise Data plays a strategic enablement role in this journey. We do not own business outcomes - we enable them by building strong, secure, and scalable data foundations that power analytics, BI, and AI across the organization.

We are looking for a Data Platform Engineer to strengthen and evolve Lundbeck’s enterprise data platform - ensuring it is automated, reliable, and designed for scale.

Our core platform is built around Snowflake and dbt, with Terraform enabling infrastructure-as-code and Python and SQL supporting automation and operational excellence. The platform is part of a broader ecosystem supporting BI, advanced analytics, and AI use cases across the company.

Your new role

As a Data Platform Engineer, you will work hands-on with designing, building, and operating the foundational capabilities that make modern data engineering possible at scale.

You will focus on platform reliability, automation, governance-by-design, and DevOps maturity, ensuring that local data teams can move fast without compromising quality, security, or performance.

This is a role for someone who enjoys building resilient systems, codifying standards, and turning manual processes into automated, reusable capabilities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Design, build, and maintain cloud-native data platform capabilities using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Strengthen CI/CD, automation, and DevOps practices across the data platform.
  • Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and security through monitoring, observability, and engineering standards.
  • Develop reusable patterns and guardrails that accelerate data engineering teams while maintaining quality.
  • Collaborate closely with data engineers, architects, and BI teams to align platform capabilities with evolving needs.
  • Contribute to platform governance practices, including access management, cost control, and operational excellence.
  • Participate in architectural decisions within the platform and cloud engineering domain.

Your future team

You will join the Enterprise Data Platform team, part of Enterprise Data within Enterprise Digital Enablement.

The department is responsible for establishing, operating, and continuously evolving Lundbeck’s enterprise data platforms to ensure they are secure, scalable, compliant, and reliable. We work closely with the Data Activation team and business domains to balance domain autonomy with clear enterprise guardrails.

You will be part of a collaborative and pragmatic engineering environment, where impact matters more than hierarchy. We work closely across disciplines to ensure strong alignment between platform capabilities, engineering standards, and business needs.

The position is based in Valby, Denmark.

What you bring to the team

You are a strong technical contributor who thrives close to infrastructure and cloud technologies. You care about building platforms that others can rely on - and you enjoy improving both technical foundations and engineering practices.

What success looks like in this role:

  • Solid experience working as a Platform Engineer, Data Engineer, or Cloud Engineer in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (preferably Terraform) and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Practical experience operating Snowflake or similar modern data platforms
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • A solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD, automation, and operational monitoring.
  • A structured and quality-focused approach to engineering, including documentation, testing, and scalable design.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to balance standardization and flexibility to support teams effectively.

Experience with DataOps practices and platform cost optimization is considered an advantage.
