Digital Ecosystem Architect

Do you want to shape how a global pharmaceutical company builds and governs its digital partner ecosystem? Join Lundbeck as our new Digital Ecosystem Architect and play a key role in influencing how we engage with our most strategic technology partners, designing the model, defining the standards, and supporting the transition from a fragmented supplier landscape to a coherent, outcome-driven ecosystem.

Your new role

As Digital Ecosystem Architect, you will design and influence the evolution of Lundbeck’s digital partner ecosystem within Enterprise Digital Enablement. This is a strategic role with significant impact: you will shape the direction from today’s landscape of many suppliers managed in silos toward a future state built on a smaller number of strategically governed global technology partnerships. You will work closely with senior leadership, key stakeholders, and external advisors to develop, refine, and mature the target model, ensuring strong alignment and buy-in across the organisation.

Your focus is the second-line tier of our delivery model, where Lundbeck deliberately works with global technology partners in a mixed model to access specialist capabilities in areas such as SAP, application platforms, data operations and enterprise operations. You will help architect the governance model, define the capability requirements, and support the organisational change needed to make these partnerships truly strategic, not just contractual.

Corporate Procurement drive the sourcing and contracting processes, and final decisions are anchored at senior leadership level.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Cross functional collaboration and governance: Drive the transformation and governance of Lundbeck’s global digital partner ecosystem in close collaboration with EDE domain leads, Corporate Procurement, enterprise architecture, senior leadership, and key business stakeholders.
  • Ecosystem design and transformation: Design the target state for Lundbeck’s digital partner ecosystem, including partnership models, governance structures, and capability requirements, transitioning from a fragmented supplier landscape to a consolidated set of strategically governed global technology partnerships.
  • Architecture and standards: Co-develop architectural standards, integration requirements, and compliance expectations for global technology partners, ensuring the ecosystem is secure, scalable, and aligned with the needs of a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
  • Landscape consolidation: Lead the assessment and rationalisation of the current supplier landscape, identifying consolidation opportunities and driving the transition towards fewer, deeper partnerships that reduce complexity and increase value across EDE.
  • Strategic partner development: Build and evolve relationships with Lundbeck’s most critical global technology partners, ensuring alignment with Lundbeck’s strategic direction and future platform ambitions.
  • Leadership engagement and decision support: Develop and present strategic material for leadership and governance forums to support informed decisions on partner investment, capability development, and ecosystem evolution.
  • Interface to Procurement and Finance: Partner closely with Procurement and Finance to ensure sourcing activities, commercial frameworks, and investment decisions are aligned with a clear technology strategy and partnership intent, combining EDE’s architectural and delivery expertise with Procurement’s commercial capabilities to drive stronger business outcomes.

Your future team

As part of Enterprise Digital Enablement, you will join a dynamic and diverse organization of approximately 140 global colleagues. We deliver secure, scalable, and efficient digital services to more than 5,600 employees worldwide. You will report to the Head of Enterprise Operations & Architecture.

The position is based in Valby, Copenhagen.

What you bring to the team

You are a systems thinker with a genuine passion for how technology partnerships can be architected to drive long-term business value. You understand both the strategic and the operational dimensions of global technology delivery, and you know how to design governance models that work in a complex, regulated enterprise environment. You bring:

  • Experience designing or transforming technology partner models in complex global environments, ideally across enterprise platforms such as SAP, SaaS, or infrastructure operations
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, digital delivery models, and the regulatory constraints that shape how technology partnerships must be structured in a pharmaceutical context
  • Proven ability to design governance models and translate complex technology requirements into clear strategic direction and decision material for senior leadership
  • Strong stakeholder skills, with experience influencing across technology, procurement, and finance functions, and comfort engaging at senior levels without formal authority
  • Analytical and structured mindset, with the ability to hold the big picture while driving concrete progress on the transformation agenda
  • A self-starter who is comfortable operating in ambiguity, building from a blank page, and creating clarity and momentum where structures do not yet exist
  • A relevant degree and several years of experience within technology management, digital strategy, enterprise architecture, or related fields
