Finance Graduate for Group Finance

Are you looking for the next step to kick-start your transition from being a student to becoming a young professional within Finance in an international pharmaceutical company? Then we have the Graduate Program just for you.

 

As part of your two-year graduate journey at Lundbeck you will be exposed to various parts of the business and encounter many exciting challenges across the company. The learning curve will be steep and we expect a lot from you, but in return we offer a programme that will empower you to grow both on a professional and personal level.

 

Finance at Lundbeck  

Finance at Lundbeck is composed of Group Finance, Local Finance and Group Business Services. Group Finance is located at Lundbeck’s Headquarter in Valby, Denmark consisting of roughly 45 finance professionals. Local Finance is our roughly 100 finance professionals located in our Commercial affiliates and Production entities globally. Lundbeck operates with a Group Business Service Center in Krakow Poland. Our approximately 110 finance colleagues in Krakow focus mainly on operational finance (transactions).

 

Finance at Lundbeck is on an ambitious transformation journey centered around strategic initiatives, which will impact our business, and which have a clear link to the Lundbeck Strategy.

The position is based in Valby, Denmark but includes 3-6 months in another global Lundbeck location.

 

Your job and the journey

A graduate position within Group Finance invites you into an ambitious world of financial reporting, financial planning and partnering with the business to support with strategic decision-making insights.


The Group Finance Graduate Track is designed to provide you with a solid Finance Toolkit and give you an excellent stepping stone to your future career. As you gain insights into Lundbeck’s financial data and processes, your mission becomes to take on a role of partnering with the business as well as leading a Global Finance strategic initiative. The program is structured around these 4 pillars which are chronological:

  • Finance Language:
    • Develop very early a strong understanding of Lundbeck’s financial data systems and structures
  • From Textbook to Practice:
    • Learn by doing by contributing to Financial Planning & Reporting processes
  • Business Understanding:
    • The future of finance is multi-dimensional and business facing. In this part of the programme you will be business facing in one of the Finance Business Partnering teams
  • Self-Application:
    • Once the foundations are in place, you will be given large responsibility to lead a Strategic project as part of our Global Finance Strategy.

 

Your program mentor will be the Director of R&D Finance and you will be working closely across Group Finance departments over the course of the programme to become a key player in our Global Finance community.

 

The reach of our processes and systems are global and your playing field will mirror this. We plan for you to spend 3-6 months outside of Group Finance. The rotations will bring valuable insights into our operations and insights into the Finance value chain.

 

During the program you will also participate in a wide range of development activities on your own as well as with other graduates - everything designed to guide you through the journey, making sure you are on track and able to unfold your potential.

 

Qualifications

Our preferred graduate has the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field with a maximum of one year post-academic work experience
  • Above average academic achievements and excellent English language skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong ability to turn data into actionable insights
  • You have ambitions and push yourself to achieve results
  • You are comfortable leading change and managing upwards
  • You are eager to learn, contribute and apply knowledge
  • You build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • You are proactive and a self-starter seeking new ways to grow and be challenged through formal and informal development channels
  • You adapt your approach and demeanour in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations
  • You preferably have insights into lean principles and/or process excellence
  • Keen interest in digitalization
