Global Congress & Events CoE – Congress Specialist
To support the Global Lundbeck Strategy of becoming a Focused Innovator, Lundbeck has established a new department within its Global Corporate Product, Portfolio and Strategy team. This department, the Global Congress & Events Center of Excellence (GC&E CoE), is part of the Global Customer Experience Team.
As part of this team, we are looking for a Congress Specialist. This position will be key to ensuring that cross-functional teams are aligned and that customer experiences are optimized through strategic, data-driven initiatives.
Congress & Events are amongst the richest channels for customer engagement. Across the board, investments in medical congresses are increasing. In the role of Congress Specialist your primary focus will be to work cross-functionally with commercial, technology and medical affairs congress professionals to harvest the return from these activities and investments, at an enterprise level. This role will be crucial to align amongst all stakeholders for a continued 18 – 24 months roadmap across all therapeutic areas.

Further to this, the right candidate will have an understanding and appreciation of the importance of the ever-increasing role of compliance within the congress environment and ensure it is adhered to through the team.
Your new role
With strong experience and knowledge within pharmaceutical congress and event environment, both commercial and medical affairs, you will as the Congress Specialist be supporting Lundbeck’s Focused Innovator Strategy, by ensuring optimized spend and presence at focus congresses with key activities, with measurable impact. Furthermore, these are key areas of responsibilities:
- Contribute to the Global Congress & Events CoE (GC&E CoE) team in the delivery of commercial and medical affairs activities at focus congresses, in collaboration CPPS cross functional teams.
- Ownership of the 18-24 months rolling congress activity overview, enterprise level.
- Drive innovation through curiosity within the C&E environment to ensure that Lundbeck provides industry-leading customer experiences.
- Ensure enterprise alignment across the pre-launch phase, launch, and commercialization product lifecycle for globally led congresses.
- Ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) for all congress activities, tracking success and refining strategies based on performance data. Communicate results and insights to leadership.
- Accountable for ROI / ROE impact measures for Global led congress.
- Maintain Congress vendor & partnerships alignment across CPPS.
- Have an adaptable prioritization work intake process and culture, to ensure Lundbeck corporate goals and strategic priorities are met.
- Support the overall implementation of Advanced Congress and Event Technologies to advance Lundbeck’s investment and measure impact.
- Congress HQ Budget accountable.

What you bring to the team
- +5 years of proven track record of successful large-scale global congress and event planning and execution, within healthcare and pharmaceutical meeting environment, including external stakeholder engagement.
- Experience with influencing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Proven experience in managing external vendors and building omni-channel congress and event technology capabilities.
- +10 years of Pharmaceutical Marketing or Customer Engagement Experience.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills across global teams.
- Proven skills in applying omnichannel approach into tactical planning and execution – channels, audience and content/creative.
- Knowledge to ensure a compliant process in delivering global led congresses & events.
- Experience working proactively and respectfully in a diverse team environment.
- Good knowledge of Information technology, and ability to understand how technology can evolve and accelerate customer experiences.
- Demonstrable alignment to the company culture with the ability to dream big, continuously learn, have fun working with others, and be driven to meet ambitious goals.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business management, event management and/or communications or similar.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
