Global Scientific Communications Lead - Amlenetug and MSA


The Global Scientific Communications lead oversees the development and execution of the strategic publication and scientific communication plan for Amlenetug and Multiple System Atrophy disease area in the Neuro Rare Global Medical Affairs team.  The Global Scientific Communications lead works with the Head of Amlenetug and MSA, Global Medical Affairs and other cross fucntional team to support the strategic objectives of the Global Medical Affairs function.

 

Your new role

 

The Scientific Communications Lead will closely collaborate with external thought leaders and internal stakeholders in the medical affairs, strategy, program team, biostats, clinical development teams by leading:

 

  • Strategic publication planning and execution: Overseeing the development of abstracts for medical and scientific congresses, posters, platform presentations, manuscripts, and journal publication enhancements.
  • Scientific communications strategic planning and resource development: Creating scientific platforms, lexicons, FAQs, and backgrounders, as well as supporting content development for advisory boards.
  • Medical education planning and execution: Developing content for live education programs, congress symposia, online and multichannel HCP education, field medical tools, slide decks, medical booth resources, and omnichannel engagement assets.
  • This role reports to the Global Medical Affairs Leader- Amlenetug and MSA within Neuro Rare Diseases in Global Medical Affairs at Lundbeck.
  • Collaboration with external authors and academic experts is essential to drive execution of high quality and relevant publications and medical education materials to address educational and data gaps and inform strategic decision making.
  • In addition to investigators/authors, a key element of this role involves managing scientific agencies and requires working closely with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders, particularly from the Registry, Research and Clinical Development, to drive the data generation strategy and integration of scientific, clinical, and business priorities.
  • The Scientific Communications Lead will have experience and a proven track record of success in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, with a strong background in scientific research, publication planning, medical communications, and medical affairs activities.

 

Your future team

 

  • Internal: Collaborate with the Global Program Team (GPT), R&D, commercial teams, and medical teams across countries and regions.
  • External: Engage with global clinical thought leaders, professional societies, health organizations, and health system decision-makers.

 

The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and is hybrid.

 

What you bring to the team

 

Professional Competencies:

  • Demonstrated strategic capabilities, including pre- and post-product launch expertise.
  • Demonstrated strategic capabilities, including pre- and post-product launch expertise.
  • Expertise in rare disease areas, particularly in neuroscience.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate patient pathways and incorporate patient perspectives into strategies.
  • PhD, PharmD, MD or MS is required.

 

Required Experience:

  • A minimum of 3-5  years pharma/biotech industry in a global role.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization and across team is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and critique scientific and medical data with respect to scientific and business implications are essential.
  • Experience and demonstrated skill in the analysis, communication, and presentation of complex scientific and medical data.
  • Track record of successfully developing peer-reviewed publications is required.
  • Exemplary customer facing skills, and ability to collaborate with external Key Opinion Leaders on data dissemination strategies in a credible, responsive and customer focused manner is a necessity.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal; comfortable and experienced in making presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Experience collaborating with and supporting international medical scientific teams.
  • Knowledge of industry guidelines pertaining to data dissemination (e.g., CONSORT, ICMJE, GPPs) and interactions with health care providers (e.g., PhRMA Code, AdvaMed guidelines).

  • Proven ability to deliver results in complex environments.
  • Expertise in scaling best practices across regions.
  • Experience in creating and implementing innovative healthcare strategies.
