Corporate Procurement in Lundbeck

Corporate Procurement in Lundbeck manages the full end-to-end procurement cycle. This effectively means that we facilitate the identification, selection, implementation and contractual lifecycle management of vendors across Lundbeck’s global value chain. Where our sourcing professionals support the business from initial purchasing thoughts through the contracting phase and strategic vendor management our S2P experts ensure that the processes and systems applied fit all phases of the Source to Pay cycle perfectly.   

Corporate Procurement consists of 30 dedicated professionals spanning from Category Managers to Category Negotiators and S2P specialists. We are on an ambitious journey to achieve global sourcing excellence and bringing value to the organization by applying best-in-class procurement tools & techniques all while acting as dedicated Business Partners. In addition, our Shared Service Center (GBS) assumes the responsibility of our Procurement Operations with +50 specialists dedicated to our Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process.


Your job and the journey

As a graduate within Corporate Procurement you are invited into a world of Category Management, digitalization, business partnering and a relentless focus on maximising the lifecycle value (ROI) of our vendor base.


Reporting to the Director of Category Support & S2P Processes and working closely with the rest of the management group, you will over the course of the programme become a key player in further defining how we best harvest and continue to grow the value potential across our vendor base. Corporate Procurement is already established as a robust business partner & contract management function however we want to take the next step in the value-deliverable journey. Do we get the most out of our vendors and contracts today? Do we have the systems, knowledge and structures to ensure optimal vendor benefit realization? And what does the line of business and vendors expect of us in this regard tomorrow? These are some of the questions you will help us deliver answers to.


The position is based in Valby, Denmark and includes 2-3 rotations to relevant functions across HQ and our global sites.


You will be thoroughly introduced to the key processes across the procurement cycle through a mix of hands-on activities, own projects and structured workshops with colleagues across Valby and Krakow. Initially you will join Corporate Procurement to gain valuable insight into the existing sourcing and contract management processes. You will gain an understanding of different sourcing projects, and outcomes, both from an Indirect, Direct as well as an R&D perspective. This will help you understand the fundamentals of how vendors are selected, contracts established and managed. With this understanding you will move into GBS where you will gain insights into the next part of the life cycle – operationalizing the contract. Here you will shadow relevant GBS roles as they assist our line of business with day to day procurement, and you will obtain valuable insights on how to further strengthen the contract management process. Another key stakeholder in realizing procurement value is Corporate Finance – they are key in our strategic planning process, in how we measure benefits and how we operationalize these. By joining our business controllers and Finance process specialists your understanding of these mechanisms will be established.


As you gain insights into the full process your mission becomes to identify and assist management and our teams in further defining how we optimally manage our supply base from operations to strategic partnerships, how we optimize value realization throughout the contract life cycle and how we measure the value that is generated.


During the programme you will participate in a wide range of development activities on your own as well as with other graduates - everything designed to guide you through the programme, making sure you are on track and able to unfold your potential.

Our preferred graduate has the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field with a maximum of one-year post-academic work experience
  • Above average academic achievements and excellent English language skills
  • Theoretical and preferably practical insights into best-in-class Procurement Concepts, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), Contract Management, Value Management and Measurement
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong IT proficiency
  • You have ambitions and push yourself to achieve results
  • You are eager to learn, contribute and apply knowledge
  • You are comfortable leading change and managing upwards
  • You are proactive, and a self-starter seeking new ways to grow and be challenged through formal and informal development channels
  • You build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • You actively seek new ways to grow and be challenged using both formal and informal development channels
  • You adapt your approach and demeanour in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations
