Graduate in Biostatistics

Are you looking for the next step to kick-start your transition from being a student to becoming a young professional within Biostatistics? Then join our Lundbeck Graduate Program 2020.

Lundbeck offers a great workplace that is based on a flat structure, and a collaborative working environment based on respect and equality. We employ dedicated colleagues and encourage continuous development. Together, we create the ideal conditions for you and your job, so we can create better conditions for patients.

As part of your two-year graduate journey at Lundbeck you will be exposed to various parts of the business and encounter many exciting challenges across the company. The learning curve will be steep and we expect a lot from you, but in return we offer a programme that will empower you to grow both on a professional and personal level.

Biostatistics in Lundbeck

In Biostatistics we are group of highly-skilled people who apply statistics and mathematics to support the full drug development value chain from early drug discovery to regulatory approval and beyond market access. We utilize a broad range of advanced analytical methods and have a culture of challenging the status quo where needed to arrive at better solutions. We have an informal structure and utilize each other daily for sparring and trouble shooting.

Our key focus area is the clinical phases of drug development where we are deeply involved in the design of the experiments, the analysis of the data and interpretation and communication of the results both internally and externally in publications.

Location – Valby.

Your job and the journey

As a graduate in Biostatistics you will have a key role as a data analytical and statistical expert and collaborate with the most important stakeholders within quantitative data analysis in early drug development. This role is instrumental to help us ensure that the right data is available and translatable as a drug candidate transitions from in-vitro experiments, through-out pre-clinical phases and onwards to testing in patients.

You will have a home base in Biostatistics but will have rotations in Experimental Medicine, where the focus will be on modelling and simulation of for instance drug exposure and biomarkers, and in our Research department, where you might be exposed to drug target screening, complex data analysis in relation to different assays or statistical optimization of pre-clinical study designs.

During the programme you will participate in a wide range of development activities on your own as well as with other graduates - everything designed to guide you through the programme, making sure you are on track and able to unfold your potential.

Our preferred graduate has the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree and/or a Ph.D. within Mathematics, Statistics or a field with a heavy focus on applied statistics with a maximum of one-year post-academic work experience
  • Above average academic achievements and excellent English language skills
  • You have ambitions and push yourself to achieve results
  • You are eager to learn, contribute and apply knowledge
  • You build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • You actively seek new ways to grow and be challenged using both formal and informal development channels
  • You adapt your approach and demeanour in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations
  • Some experience with programming in a statistical software such as SAS and R
  • You can communicate complex statistical concepts to people without a statistical background
  • You have a strong interest in applying statistical methods and mathematical modelling on Biological data, and preferably some experience with statistical application to experimental data
