Requistion ID:  852

Copenhagen, N/A, DK

Graduate position in Experimental Medicine & Clinical Development

Do you want to be part of paving the way for the next generation of treatments for brain diseases and are you looking for the next step to kick-start your transition from being a PhD student - or in a medical internship - to becoming a young professional involved in research and development in an international pharmaceutical company dedicated to making a difference for patients? If you are passionate about the translational research and biomarkers, then we have the Graduate (or “post-graduate”) Program just for you.

Lundbeck offers a great workplace that is based on a flat structure, and a collaborative working environment based on respect and equality. We employ dedicated colleagues and encourage continuous development. Together, we create the ideal conditions for you and your job, so we can create better conditions for patients.

As part of your two-year graduate journey at Lundbeck you will be exposed to some of the main areas focusing on biomarker development and encounter exciting challenges across the company. The learning curve will be steep and we expect a lot from you, but in return we offer a programme that will empower you to grow both on a professional and personal level.

Experimental Medicine & Clinical Development in Lundbeck

Experimental Medicine & Clinical Development is part of the Research and Development organisation at Lundbeck, comprising approx. 200 people within which the organisation of Experimental Medicine is responsible for Clinical Pharmacology, PK/PD Modelling & Simulation and Translational Biomarkers & Imaging. Our scope ranges from preclinical studies towards clinical proof of concept (PoC) and support for phase III. A main focus area is integrating biomarkers (both fluid and neuroimaging) and PK/PD into our clinical studies. The present graduate position is based at Lundbeck’s headquarters in Valby, Copenhagen.

Your job and the journey

We are searching for a Graduate who can contribute to Experimental Medicine activities in the daily work, while developing professional and personal skills and expertise for a career in the pharmaceutical industry. For this position it would be an added value if you possess prior experience within the field of biomarkers e.g. have clinical experience and/or have a Ph.d. degree.

The position centres around Biomarkers. Here you will bring into play your current knowledge of biomarkers and further explore and expand this during the two-year programme. You will be anchored within Experimental Medicine, but you will be working closely with partners across Research and Development.

For you to learn as much as possible about drug development, the Graduate Programme includes periods of job rotation to other relevant areas in Lundbeck, which will be tailored according to your profile. Close collaborators are among others Research, Clinical Study Management, Therapeutic areas and Bioinformatics.

During the program you will participate in a wide range of development activities on your own as well as with other graduates - everything designed to guide you through the program, making sure you are on track and able to unfold your potential. The position might include travel activities.

Our preferred graduate has the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree and/or a Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g. Medicine, molecular biomedicine/biology, pharmacy, human biology) with a maximum of one-year post-academic work experience
  • Above average academic achievements and excellent English language skills
  • Through your education you have obtained basic scientific experience relevant within the biomarker area
  • Some biomarker experience (and passion) is a plus
  • Relevant publication record
  • You possess a scientific mindset, being curios and with an innovative mindset
  • You have ambitions and push yourself to achieve results
  • You are eager to learn, contribute and apply knowledge
  • You build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
