As Head of Statistical Programming, you will lead a great team of 12 skilled programmers with a mix of seniorities. In this position, your overall focus is to deliver the statistical programming expertise to the clinical projects. This includes delivery of clinical databases in accordance with CDISC standards, integration of data, creation of output and summaries, submission plans and authority interactions. Part of your responsibility will be to drive innovation and development of new tools.

 

The section is part of the Biostatistics & Programming Department within the Biometric Division in our Copenhagen Headquarter. You will report to the Sr Director of Biostatistics & Programming and be member of the Leadership Team that also includes Head of Biostatistics.

 

We have a strong focus on technical development and knowledge sharing, and together we keep abreast of current practices in pharmaceutical R&D, state-of-the-art methodology and participate and contribute actively to scientific communities.

Your job

Your main responsibility is to lead, advice, coach and develop your employees to meet objectives and future needs, and to plan and follow-up of activities and resources. This includes participation in setting, communicating and following up on goals for the department as well as ensuring continuous development in tools, standards and processes. You are responsible for the scientific, technical and strategic direction for the Statistical Programming function, and you inspire and facilitate new ideas to foster the continuous development. You work in close collaboration with other leaders and specialists across the R&D organization.

 

In addition, you may be involved in the clinical projects as project statistical programmer

with overall responsibility for producing, aligning and coordinating statistical programming activities and deliverables on a specific clinical project.

 

Your qualifications

Our preferred candidate

  • holds a master’s degree within a relevant field
  • has profound experience as statistical programmer within drug development
  • has a proven leadership track record either as technical management within a project or as people manager
  • keeps up with development within relevant CDISC standards and electronic submission requirements and guidelines
  • is a skilled SAS programmer
  • is a strong communicator, great at stakeholder management, goal-oriented, innovative and proactive
  • is fluent in oral and written English.
