Laboratory Technician/ Research Assistant – Translational DMPK



The Department of Translational Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics is looking for a Laboratory Technician/Research Assistant to support our quantitative bioanalysis platform which is an integrated part of our ADME assays for early compound profiling and optimization in drug discovery. The department is based at Lundbeck’s headquarters in Valby, Copenhagen where you will be working in a dynamic team with 15 scientists, technicians and PhD students. The department is part of Lundbeck’s Research organization where we interact closely with other drug discovery functions such as medicinal chemistry, pharmacology and toxicology to discover and optimize new molecules for CNS diseases. The department laboratory facilities include state-of-the-art LC-MS instrumentation and liquid handling systems, and platforms supporting analysis of small as well as large molecules. Your job and key responsibilities

Support discovery projects by performing quantitative analysis of small and large molecules in biological samples using LC-MS/MS


Develop and optimize sensitive LC-MS/MS bioanalytical methods to quantify drug candidates in biological matrices and perform troubleshooting when relevant


Participate in the testing, development and implementation of new mass spectrometry and chromatography technologies, e.g. LC/MS based methods for quantitative analysis of fluid biomarkers and proteins


Process and report data to discovery project teams in close collaboration with DMPK scientists.



Our preferred candidate has the following professional and personal qualifications:

  • Laboratory technician with an interest in analytic chemistry applied for analysis of biosamples
  • Or master’s degree in relevant field (e.g. Pharmaceutical sciences or related area) with an interest in scientific areas related to bioanalytical science
  • You have an analytical and quality-oriented mindset
  • Interest in mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography technologies
  • Interest in automated lab systems for efficient sample handling (e.g. liquid handling systems) and its use in ADME testing
  • Awareness and understanding of the role of DMPK in drug discovery
  • Flair for IT systems used for lab-based technologies
  • Enthusiastic, goal oriented and independent work style with flexible mind-set
  • Team player with strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Fluent in oral and written English
