Pharmacokineticist, PK/PD Modelling & Simulation

Are you passionate about quantitative pharmacology and driven by the science behind new drug discovery? Do you thrive in a collaborative, innovative environment where your expertise can make a real impact? Lundbeck is looking for a Pharmacokineticist to join our PK/PD Modelling & Simulation team and help evaluate the feasibility of new targets and modalities to advance groundbreaking treatments in neuroscience.

Join Lundbeck as a Pharmacokineticist and help shape the future of neuroscience drug development!

Your new role

Step into a pivotal role where your ‘model driven’ insights will guide the strategic direction of our drug discovery and early development projects.

You will:

  • Be responsible for evaluating the feasibility of new targets and modalities using quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) and mechanistic modelling approaches.
  • Define data requirements and design model-informed strategies to assess new target hypotheses.
  • Apply mechanistic, PK/PD, and PBPK modelling to support candidate selection and first-in-human dose predictions as well as back-translation of early clinical data.
  • Contribute to translational modelling activities bridging preclinical and clinical data.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate modelling insights into project strategies.
  • Represent the department in discovery project teams, providing modelling and simulation input to support decision-making from target validation to early clinical development.

Your future team

You’ll be part of the Experimental Medicine organization – a dynamic group that bridges research and development, with a focus on biomarkers, quantitative pharmacology, and translational science. Based at our headquarters in Valby, Copenhagen, you’ll collaborate with passionate scientists dedicated to improving brain health.

What you bring to the team

We’re looking for someone who combines scientific rigor with curiosity and innovation:

  • BS or MS (with at least 4–6 years of industry experience) or PhD in pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutical science, bioengineering, chemical engineering, systems biology, or related discipline.
  • Experience with QSP and mechanistic modelling applied to early discovery and feasibility evaluation.
  • Knowledge of PK/PD and PBPK modelling tools (e.g., NONMEM, R, MATLAB, Gastro-Plus or other similar software such as Simcyp, PK-Sim).
  • A physiological and mechanistic understanding that facilitates strong collaboration across research and clinical teams.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex modelling results into actionable insights.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and scientifically curious mindset.

Our promise to you
