We are opening a new position in our Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) group as R&D Project and Portfolio Analyst and System Owner (Planisware). In PPM, we provide Global Project Leadership and Management on all development programs from early development to loss of exclusivity. The PPM department is also responsible for providing project and portfolio analytics – including external benchmarking with our peers in the pharmaceutical industry – to senior management to inform Lundbeck’s operational and strategic planning at project, portfolio, and corporate level.  

 

Your job and key responsibilities

 

In Lundbeck, we use Planisware to manage our research and development projects and financial planning. As system owner you will be responsible for the organizational use, system optimization, data extraction, analysis and reporting.

 

Key responsibilities as R&D Project and Portfolio Analyst and System Owner includes:

  • System owner for Planisware with key insight to system modules (project, financial, TimeCard and resource), templates and data structure

  • Responsible for the organizational use of Planisware and for future updates, implementation and optimization projects incl. training and change management in the Research & Development organization, Finance and in close collaboration with the vendor and IT

  • Support and train R&D and CMC organisations and Global Project Mangers in their work with Planisware

  • Portfolio data extraction, analysis and reporting, including resource spend

  • Ensure timely Planisware contract update and compliance

  • Ensure input to Planisware system budget and oversight of spend

  • Oversight of Planisware Administration tasks & responsibilities

  • Communicate on project & portfolio analytics incl. external benchmark data

  • Responsible for coordinating and providing input to external benchmark systems (CMR industry benchmark)

 

With the right candidate and with time, this position offers the opportunity to expand into a Global Project Management role. In this role, you will ensure alignment on project planning and that project progression is executed according to the global project strategy, plans and budget. You will work collaboratively with the Global Project Team (GPT) to maximize value of assets throughout the value chain. You will be the project operational counterpart to the strategic Global Project Lead (GPL) role.

 

You will report to the Head of Global Project Management.

 

Qualifications

 

Our preferred candidate

 

  • holds an academic degree in science (or other technical area), finance, or business administration (e.g., BSc, MSc, MBA, or similar)

  • experience in the use of portfolio management systems (i.e. Planisware)

  • experience in programming and data analysis (very experienced with Excel and in addition experience with programming: for example, R, MATLAB and other tools)

  • has experience with data extraction and work with larger datasets

  • good communication skills and able to present complex data in a clear way across diverse stakeholder groups (specialists, project teams, senior management, etc.)

  • has 5+ years of experience from a large R&D organization, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry/drug development

  • has a strong track record of leveraging analytics to help drive operational and organizational strategic agenda’s

  • is very structured, goal and result oriented

  • can handle several tasks in parallel

  • is pragmatic and proactive with excellent communication and cross functional collaboration skills

  • manages ambiguity and thrive in a dynamic and changing environment

  • is curious and has a strong drive to develop insight on the use of our project and portfolio management system to the best of its capabilities and matching our organizational needs
