Toxicologists (Department of Regulatory Toxicology & Safety Assessment)


Are you passionate about toxicology? If so, Lundbeck is now looking for 2 toxicologists with expertise in development of mainly large molecular products to join the Department of Regulatory Toxicology & Safety Assessment.

You will be joining a department of 10 experienced toxicologists and technicians, based in Valby, Denmark. The department belongs to the Drug Safety Division under Non-Clinical Safety Research and is responsible for the nonclinical safety assessment of large molecular molecules/biologicals and small molecules. We outsource nonclinical safety studies to Contract Research Organizations around the world, while also conducting selected studies in our own facilities. We work closely together with other departments within the nonclinical-, clinical-, pharmacology-, regulatory-, and pharmaceutical areas at Lundbeck to promote efficient drug development under Lundbeck’s new Project Management framework. Further, the department assists the Production and Health, Safety & Environment Units and houses a full clinical pathology & pathology section with state-of-the-art laboratories. Your jobs

The successful applicants will be important players in a department that participates in the full development process of pharmaceuticals from early research to post-marketing commitments. When ready you will join cross-functional Global Project Teams (GPTs) as the non-clinical representative. As GPT member you will be leading the non-clinical project team responsible for all non-clinical safety activities in the project. Also, you will join the NCSR Biologics Team that oversees all biologics projects and participates in due diligences.



Our preferred candidates likely come with a relevant educational background in non-clinical development of pharmaceuticals, with an emphasis on biologics. You have probably received you training within the Pharmaceutical Industry or at a CRO.

The positions are open to various levels of experience and we have focus on continued development of toxicologists regardless of level of expertise.

We expect that:

  • You have a personal drive, an innovative mindset and is motivated by finding the optimal path forward for the projects.
  • You are fluent in English and proactively communicate and lead the discussions on safety issues and provide project teams and management with clear communication of project plans, progress and issues.
  • You have some experience in outsourcing and monitoring of safety studies.
  • You are a team player and you understand the value of a positive working environment.
