Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence & Sourcing Excellence
Are you a data-driven business professional who thrives at the intersection of analytics and strategic sourcing? Are you passionate about turning insights into impact? At Lundbeck, we’re looking for a Senior Business Intelligence & Sourcing Excellence Analyst to join our Corporate Procurement team.
This will be your opportunity to blend analytics, strategy, and execution in a role that values innovation, stakeholder management and continuous improvement. Working directly with the Senior Manager of Business Intelligence and the Head of Procurement Excellence, you'll have the visibility and support to make a meaningful difference from day one.
If you're someone who can speak both the language of data and the language of business and strategy, this is your chance to join a forward-thinking pharmaceutical company where your insights will directly influence sourcing excellence and organizational success.
Your new role
In this newly established position, you will hold a strategically important role of generating actionable, timely and impactful insights by overlaying internal business-facing and external market-facing data, and then co-leading or supporting execution of sourcing initiatives across multiple categories of spend. You will act as an insights partner to category leads and business stakeholders, enabling fact-based decision-making through advanced analytics, market intelligence and sourcing optimization.
The role will combine advanced data analytics skills, knowledge and understanding of external market forces and their drivers, as well as hands-on sourcing execution (eSourcing and eAuctions), which drives sourcing excellence and delivers business value to Lundbeck.
Finally, it is not just a great job in a great company. It is your chance to:
- Develop, maintain and enhance comprehensive procurement dashboards and reports tracking a range of KPIs, spend and contract performance metrics, scorecards, to monitor category performance and value delivery.
- Conduct advanced data analysis and cost modelling, bringing forward cost reduction and value generation opportunities across the supplier base.
- Deliver actionable insights through supplier and market intelligence, price benchmarking, and risk assessment.
- Partner with category managers and cross-functional teams to translate insights into actionable sourcing strategies and plans.
- Act as, or develop into, a subject matter expert in eSourcing/eAuctions and continuously evaluate various approaches of going to supply market, including latest technology alternatives.
- Co-develop – alongside the Global Process Owner office – best practices, templates, and standards to scale sourcing excellence across the organization.
- Support organizational change management initiatives related to procurement transformation and digital adoption.
Your future team
This role sits within the Procurement Excellence function of Lundbeck’s Corporate Procurement. Corporate Procurement sits in the CFO area, which is why we are focused on data, insights and execution.
The Procurement Excellence team is ~10 people at full strength, split roughly in half between Valby, Denmark and Krakow, Poland. Our key focus areas are Source to Pay global process ownership, Business Intelligence and Insight, Sustainability and Resilience, and Performance and Capability development.
Our culture can be described as one where curiosity is “table stakes”, adaptability is a requirement (in view of how fast and unpredictably the world around us is changing) and accountability is part of who we are and what we do. When you join the team, you are going to be the “adult in the room” from day one, but you will also be able to count on the collective knowledge and insights of the whole organization, as we are doing our best to work cross-functionally and execute considering end-to-end impact.
The position will be based in either Valby, Denmark (Lundbeck HQ) or Krakow, Poland (Lundbeck GBS). Thus, applicants for both locations will be considered equally.
What you bring to the team
There is no perfect or right background for this role. It all depends on the person and his/her curiosity, drive, integrity, adaptability, etc. However, we believe that the below-listed qualifications and experiences will set a candidate apart:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain management, consulting.
- 2+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or related analytical roles.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to structure and synthesize complex data into clear and actionable insights and business cases.
- Strong project management capabilities, ideally with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Good understanding of procurement best practices, particularly within category strategy development, sourcing execution, and negotiation.
- Good knowledge of procurement systems and eSourcing tools.
- Experience with business intelligence platforms (e.g., PowerBI) and spend analytics tools (e.g. SpendHQ, Suplari, Sievo).
- Proficiency (ideally advanced) with data analytics and automation tools such as Knime, Alteryx, Python, R, SQL.
