Your new role

 

We offer the right candidate an exciting job opportunity within our Direct Procurement team. As a Category Manager, you work across a range of outsourcing, sourcing, make-buy and contracting activities across our development and commercial pipeline. No two days are the same, yet some of the primary activities our CMC-CMO team embarks on are category strategy development, category and project portfolio planning and execution, business case analyses and -development, building and issuing RFXs, as well as negotiating Work Orders and Change Orders, all in very close alignment and collaboration with our line of business.

You will join Corporate Procurement, a global function of more than 60 ambitious colleagues located in Copenhagen, Krakow, and Chicago. We work in close partnership with the business to support the full Lundbeck value chain through professional category management, transparent governance, and a well-established source-to-pay framework. We take outset in our strongly integrated Category Management processes and deliver value through our structured approach to strategy development, category planning, sourcing project execution as well as stakeholder- and supplier management. We believe in ongoing development of individuals and teams.

The position is based in Valby/Copenhagen, Denmark (no remote setup will be possible).

 

 

What you bring to the team

 

Our new Senior Category Manager will join a team of 3 individuals focusing on CMC-CMO activities within the Direct Procurement Team. We work individually as well as in teams where sparring and mutual support are key in the way we interact.

 

As a Senior Category Manager within CMC-CMO, you will:

  • Take part in driving Category Strategy development, as well as planning and execution in close collaboration with the other Category Team members and our line of business. 
  • Manage outsourcing, sourcing and make-buy projects and processes within CMC-CMO, hereunder run RFPs, Bid Defense Meetings, as well as negotiation of Work Orders, Change Orders and contracts in close alignment with Lundbeck’s line of business and management.
  • Participate in lifecycle management of the relevant contract portfolio and strategic vendor relations, ensuring continued commercial, legal and financial governance and value generation.
  • Take part in the business partnering processes with internal key stakeholders to secure project and strategy alignment.
  • Through efficient procurement ensure quality & timelines for key Lundbeck activities, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, liability and commercially optimized terms and overall Lundbeck long term interests across the contract portfolio.

 

We are expecting the following qualifications from a Senior Category Manager within CMC-CMO:

  • Project management skills demonstrated through a minimum of 5 years’ experience managing sourcing projects within CMC and/or CMO categories.
  • Profound understanding of pharmaceutical development and commercial(isation) processes, hereunder how respectively CMC and CMO play a role in pharmaceutical pipeline development and commercialisation.
  • Strategic and business mindset, including ability to translate this into meaningful action and decisions across the team and organisation
  • Strong business partnering skills and -experience, ability to influence, and understanding of how close collaboration between relevant functions across the company matters for decision making.
  • A Master’s Degree from a University or Business School relevant to the position.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a structured approach.
  • The ability to manage many projects and tasks simultaneously, and with a high drive.
