Senior Director – Clinical Operations

Do you want to be part of the Lundbeck Clinical Operations leadership team, striving to improve the lives of patients with neurological diseases? Clinical Operations is responsible for planning and execution of Lundbeck’s global clinical phase I-IV studies as well as the conduct of Lundbeck’s observational studies.

 

Description

As Senior Director you will report to the Vice President of Clinical Operations and be part of a department with 35 individuals. You will lead a team of International study managers.

 

We are seeking a senior professional with documented leadership skills and significant trial execution experience from the pharmaceutical industry and/or Clinical Research Organization. Experienced in leading and developing people, you will be able to achieve results through delegation of responsibilities, motivation of staff and by developing a high-performance culture.

Your job and key responsibilities

Key member of Clinical Operations leadership team responsible for delivering clinical trials on budget and on time with high quality data.

Partnering with Procurement team in selecting CROs, negotiating clinical trial budgets.

Line manager for a team of dedicated International Study Managers supporting the Lundbeck CNS portfolio.

Developing a collaborative team environment.

Represent Lundbeck on CRO governance boards, and operational Steering committee driving improved KPI performance.

Support innovation initiatives and continuous operational improvements in Clinical Operations and the wider Experimental Medicine and Clinical Development organization, for example, digitalization and enabling virtual trial capabilities.

Resource planning ensuring adequate resource allocation across projects and studies, including optimal utilization of the competences within Clinical Operations.

Qualifications

MD, PhD or MSc with biomedical or pharmaceutical industry experience, with relevant clinical development experience in CNS;

Extensive Clinical Operations experience in the biopharm industry; across all phases of drug development including early development and experience from CRO and/or pharma company would be an advantage;

High personal integrity and knowledgeable about GCP/ICH and regulatory compliance;

Results-driven, decisive and creative with strong leadership skills and ability to motivate internal teams and collaborate with other functional departments;

Strong communication skills, great at stakeholder management, goal-oriented, innovative and proactive. Fluent in written and spoken English.
