Senior Director/Head of Department, PK/PD Modelling & Simulation

 

Are you ready to embark on an exciting scientific adventure? We’re seeking an enthusiastic leader to manage our team of PK/PD specialists that are key assets in clinical development from early to late stage. In this role, you’ll leverage your expertise in drug development and pharmacokinetics to bridge translational gaps intro clinical trials and use your great management skills to inspire and guide a skilled team of PK/PD professionals.

 

 

Your new role

 

You will lead a team of seven people with multidisciplinary competence that covers research and clinical PK/PD modelling with all kinds of modalities. This makes the position a unique opportunity to both lead and directly contribute to the development of new treatments for specific disease indications with clear unmet needs. Your main responsibilities:

  • Heading the PK/PD Modelling & Simulation department through securing the generation of PK/PD documentation in relation to drug development and ensuring the implementation and use of modelling and simulation in all projects.
  • Ensure input to clinical development plans with respect to integration of cutting-edge PK/PD modelling and simulation approaches.
  • Ensure departmental representation in cross-functional teams, including responsibility for PK/PD input to global clinical development plans.
  • Ensure scientific input to reports of documents for PK/PD-related sections in Investigator Brochures, study reports, manuscripts, summaries for regulatory authorities, INDs and BLAs.
  • Interpret preclinical PK data to inform human dose projections.

 

The position is placed at Lundbeck’s headquarters in Valby, Copenhagen, Denmark.

 

 

Your future team

 

You will be managing team of seven people with multidisciplinary competence that covers research and clinical PK/PD modelling with all kinds of modalities. As members of Clinical Development teams, they work in a matrix environment together with clinicians, clinical pharmacologists, biomarker experts among other specialists. The PK/PD Modelling & Simulation Department is part of Experimental Medicine and Global Clinical Development at Lundbeck.

What you bring to the team

 

Our preferred candidate has the following professional and personal qualifications:

  • A positive mindset with a good sense of humor and a genuine interest in good leadership.
  • Scientifically minded, curios and with an innovative mindset.
  • Skilled in building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared goals.
  • A basic physiological understanding to facility collaborations with clinical colleagues.
  • Solid research background and interest in understanding PK data in the context of complex biology.
  • Proven ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in English.
  • Working knowledge of PK/PD software (e.g., Phoenix, NONMEM, R etc.).
  • BS, MS, or PhD, in pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutical science, bioengineering, chemical engineering, or related disciplines, ideally with more than 7 years’ experience from industry.
