Senior Project Manager; RD Project & Portfolio Management


We are opening a new position as Senior Project Manager to strengthen our project management within R&D Project & Portfolio Management. We manage all global development programs through a strong matrix organisation. Our cross functional Global Project Teams (GPTs) are led strategically by our Global Project Leads. The GPTs have representatives from all relevant disciplines and ensure successful project progression of our innovative development programs from early development to loss of exclusivity by close collaboration between all relevant line functions such as Research, Non-clinical Safety Research, Product development & Supply, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Commercial and Finance line functions.


Your job and key responsibilities


Do you thrive within project planning, communication, and activities tracking/project execution?

As Senior Project Manager at Lundbeck, your role is to ensure alignment on project planning and that project progression is executed according to the global project strategy and plans. You will work collaboratively with the Global Project Team (GPT) to maximize value of assets throughout the value chain. You will be the project operational counterpart to the strategic Global Project Lead (GPL) role.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Build and coordinate project plans and deliverables in project planning tool in cooperation with the GPT
  • Ensure planning towards milestones, scenario building and timely preparation for governance meetings, reviews and project information meetings
  • Follow-up on project timelines, action points and deadlines
  • Plan and organize global project GPT meetings; drive risk management, G&D process and Global Product Plan (GPP) development
  • Ensure project high level information, project monthly reports, project team workspace for communication purposes and archiving of project documents
  • Follow-up on project budgets, identify financial risks and challenge budget input from project team members
  • Ensure program, study outline and budgets availability and challenge prior to governance presentation and decision


Few travel days can be expected.


You will report to the Head of the of the Project Management group (Senior Director Karina Krøjer Søby). 




Our preferred candidate


  • holds a scientific background e.g. Master of Science,
  • has approximately 5-7 years of pharma development experience preferably within CNS
  • brings strong project management/tools experience and insight to e.g. biologics, clinical development or regulatory area
  • has a thorough understanding of the value chain
  • is very structured, goal and result oriented
  • can handle several tasks in parallel
  • is pragmatic, proactive with excellent cross cultural/functional collaboration skills
  • manages ambiguity and thrive in a dynamic and changing environment
