Job description

We are looking for an experienced and inspiring scientist with a strong background in preclinical in vivo research and biological understanding of brain disorders to join Lundbeck discovery research in our newly-created Symptom Biology team. The team is responsible for leveraging our behavioural assay platform focused on symptom and circuit engagement to continuously develop our symptom, disease and translational PKPD understanding across the Lundbeck pipeline. You will join a team of highly qualified and experienced colleagues, working in an open, collegial and collaborative atmosphere where trust, agile and pro-active behaviors are essential.


Key responsibilities

  • Develop subject matter expertise in preclinical in vivo pain and migraine research
  • Establish preclinical in vivo behavioural assay and model platform for pain and migraine research
  • Build and manage positive relationships with external CROs and academic collaborators
  • Provide thorough PKPD data package and symptom biology expertise to internal project teams
  • Support technology development, implementation and data analysis standard operating procedures
  • Contribute to Lundbeck idea generation process, including novel target ideas and their validation


Desirable qualifications

Our preferred candidate has the following professional and personal qualifications:

  • PhD degree and post-doctoral experience in neuroscience (academia and/or industry)
  • 6+ years in behavioural pharmacology research, some of which in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Expert knowledge of preclinical in vivo assays and models for the study of pain and migraine
  • Detailed knowledge within pathophysiology of neurological disorders, particularly within pain
  • Knowledge of immunology and inflammation research, ideally applied to pain and migraine
  • Experience with simple and complex preclinical behavioural assays to build links between circuit engagement and symptom domains
  • Experience with novel ethologically-relevant, real-time behavioural tracking technologies is an advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams as well as external network of collaborators
  • Proven track record of scientific communications as well as strong and active external network
  • Strong collaborator and communicator in English, written and orally.
