Senior Scientist, Translational DMPK

Do you think solving DMPK challenges in drug discovery projects to optimize molecules to become the drugs of the future for brain diseases sound interesting? Let’s do it then - together.

You have the possibility to join our team in Translational Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) as Senior Scientist to contribute to our drug discovery portfolio within small molecule projects.

Your new role

As Senior Scientist in Translational DMPK, you are responsible for designing, overseeing, and interpreting screening and mechanistic in vitro DMPK assays related to drug metabolism, drug-drug interaction, drug distribution and/or drug membrane transport.

You will serve as DMPK project representative to guide research design teams on key aspects of in vitro and in vivo DMPK to support molecule optimization of the drug-like properties and predicted human PK and PK/PD properties. In addition, you will interact closely with other DMPK scientists and technicians in the department as well as cross-functional teams within Medicinal chemistry and biology departments to contribute to the progression of our research projects.

In your role as Senior Scientist, you have the opportunity to apply your scientific skills and ideas to drive, design and implement hypothesis driven studies to answer DMPK or PK/PD questions and further develop our assay platform to increase the DMPK understanding of new molecular entities.

If you enjoy working in an exploratory research environment where ideas can be tested immediately this is a great opportunity to further develop your scientific career.

Your future team

You will join a motivated team of four scientists in our in vitro DMPK section that is part of the Translational DMPK department. Located at our headquarters, you will work closely with the whole global Research Organization and beyond. We in the Translational DMPK department are all enthusiastic about contributing to innovative treatments for brain diseases and advancing the DMPK discipline. Our culture is characterized by openness and purpose-driven experimentation in a non-regulated explorative research environment.

The position is based at the Lundbeck headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark.

What you bring to the team

Our preferred candidate is a scientist with experience in the in vitro DMPK field of small molecules or other modalities. Further, we are looking for a candidate with the following profile:

  • PhD in relevant life science area and at least 4 years’ industry experience in the field of ADME/DMPK.
  • Keen interest and knowledge within specific areas related to in vitro DMPK such as biotransformation, metabolic stability, drug-drug interactions, protein binding or drug membrane transport.
  • Experience in analyzing, interpreting, and translating ADME/DMPK data of small molecules and/or other modalities.
  • An understanding of the role of DMPK and early PK/PD in drug discovery.
  • Enjoys working in internal and cross-functional teams and a desire to work in a fast paced, flexible, and dynamic discovery environment.

We welcome candidates with significantly more relevant experience. The job title/position and compensation package may be adjusted accordingly.
