Senior Specialist, Clinical Development

We are looking for a medical doctor, ideally a neurologist, with special interest in clinical development in neurology, more specifically neuroimmunology, with the ambition to contributing to the development of a novel therapy area at the cutting edge of science and being at the forefront of the fight against neurological diseases.

Lundbeck is also expanding into Neuroimmunology, and as part of this growth comes an opening for a “Senior Specialist” position to join the department of Clinical Development Neurodegeneration, located in Copenhagen.

Highlights from responsibilities

In the position you will be:


  • Contributing to the creation and implementation of strategic clinical development plans for investigational products for Neuroimmunology and neuroinflammation.
  • Designing and developing clinical protocols and work closely with other functional areas within the R&D departments to integrate competitive intelligence and facilitate the execution of clinical trials.
  • Serve as a study lead on clinical programs and trials in neurodegeneration/ neuroimmunology diseases.
  • Serve as a medical expert in clinical trials and medical resource for clinical issues raised by internal and external collaborators.
  • Provide strategic input on new product concepts, strategic plans and licensing opportunities.



Example on professional and/or interpersonal competencies

Our preferred candidate has the following personal and professional qualifications:


  • MD, ideally a board-certified neurologist, with research experience as well as early and late clinical development experience in Neuroimmunology and neuroinflammatory diseases; biologics experience is highly desired
  • Professional experience in clinical development at a pharmaceutical company or a contract research organization is highly desired
  • Excellent knowledge of study publication processes and publications within the neurodegenerative disease area
  • Good knowledge of study execution and benefit risk management
  • Ambitious, goals, research oriented and result-driven
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills and problem-solving techniques.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
