Senior Specialist, Data Engineering, Enterprise Data, Enterprise Digital Enablement
Lundbeck is on a clear journey to become a bionic company—where data, AI, and digital capabilities are embedded in how we make decisions, move faster, and create value.
Enterprise Data plays a strategic enablement role in this journey. We don’t own business outcomes—we enable them by building strong, scalable data foundations, accelerating insight, and working closely with our business partners across the organization.
We are now looking for a Senior Specialist, Data Engineering to help strengthen and modernize our enterprise data landscape as we scale and share Lundbeck data products across the organization. The role brings deep expertise in SAP Datasphere and SAP BW/4HANA and supports the Lundbeck Enterprise Data Platform together with Snowflake and DBT.
Your new role
This is a senior individual contributor role for an experienced SAP data engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of SAP data, modern cloud platforms, and business enablement.
You will play a key role in shaping and delivering enterprise-grade data products, with a strong focus on SAP Datasphere and SAP BW as critical sources in Lundbeck’s data ecosystem. At the same time, you will collaborate closely with colleagues working on Snowflake, dbt, and downstream BI and analytics, ensuring consistent modelling, high data quality, and a seamless consumer experience.
You will act as a trusted specialist—someone others rely on for technical depth, sound judgment, and pragmatic solutions that scale.
As Senior Specialist, Data Engineering, you will:
-
Design, build, and maintain data models and pipelines primarily using SAP Datasphere and SAP BW, ensuring high data quality, performance, and reusability
-
Contribute to the integration of SAP-based data products into the broader enterprise data platform, including Snowflake and dbt
-
Collaborate with BI specialists and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust, consumer-ready data products
-
Apply and evolve data engineering best practices around modelling, testing, documentation, and data quality
-
Act as a technical sparring partner within the data engineering team, contributing to design reviews, standards, and architectural discussions
Your future team
You will report to the Head of Data Activation and become a key part of Enterprise Data within Enterprise Digital Enablement. The department brings together Data Engineering, BI, and Data & BI adoption capabilities and is positioned as a strategic enabler—guiding and accelerating how data creates value across Lundbeck.
You will join a data engineering team focused on enablement: building foundations and reusable capabilities that help the organization move faster—without compromising reliability and quality.
You will work closely with both the Enterprise Data Platform team and BI specialists to ensure strong alignment across SAP Datasphere, BW/HANA Snowflake, and downstream analytics.
The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
What you bring to the team
-
Extensive hands-on experience in data engineering within complex, enterprise environments, with strong technical ownership of data products
-
Proven, hands-on implementation experience in SAP Datasphere and SAP BW, including building data models, data flows, and integrations in complex enterprise environments
-
Strong ABAP skills and working knowledge of SQL and Python, paired with a sound grasp of good engineering practices (testing, documentation, version control, and maintainable design)
-
The ability to collaborate closely with BI specialists and business stakeholders, translating complex needs into trusted, high-quality data products
-
A pragmatic mindset—applying standards where they add value and flexibility where it accelerates outcomes; experience with CI/CD, IaC, or cloud platform operations is a plus
