Solutions Architect – Serialization and Track&Trace


After a successful implementation of SAP ATTP and serialisation in several countries including the US and the EU, Lundbeck is faced with several new compliance requirements in 2019 and beyond. Aggregation of finished goods, updates in the EU-hub and improved functionality in Lundbeck’s serialisation system are important themes. Meanwhile, building knowledge and robust processes in the daily operations is essential to continuously succeed. 

To ensure continued serialisation compliance, Lundbeck is looking for three new profiles to enhance the new serialisation processes and support the daily operational challenges. The positions will be posted separately and will be anchored in three different organisational areas; Supply Chain, Corporate IT and Pharmaceutical Production. This position is for an opportunity as a Solution Architect in Corporate IT.

Lundbeck has strong ambitions for optimising SAP processes and applications. This is managed by a team of professionals, who across Lundbeck is involved in our global Serialization project. You will have dedicated and professional Solution Architect colleagues and interact with other IT departments and colleagues from different business units, Implementation Partners and with our Outsourcing Partners.


Your role

Your responsibility will be to challenge and transform business needs and aspirations into requirements and follow through until the solutions are successfully implemented. Your role will include taking the lead of architecture and design as well as support of serialisation throughout our supply chain. In addition, you will be responsible for shaping and planning the development of our track & trace capabilities in collaboration with Production, Supply Chain and Quality Assurance.


You will be involved in shaping your new role, with the following focus areas:

  • Insights to development and implementation of strategies to IT & Automation (MES)
  • Knowledge within engineering best practice  - IT & Automation
  • Knowledge within design, commissioning and qualification of related equipment
  • Facilitate workshops to identify needs and good practices, to drive development and to ensure implementation
  • Provide input to business cases comprising economical and technical arguments and recommendations


What we are looking for

To be successful in this position you should have a strong focus on collaboration, be action oriented, passionate about driving results and have a desire to develop yourself and grow your area of expertise and responsibility. Proven track record within standardisation based on IT & Automation technologies is required in the role. Serialisation is a niche, and whilst we welcome experts in SAP ATTP, Tracelink, SAP ICH and integrations, less than expert level will do if you are willing to learn and have flair.


Our preferred candidate would have:

           A master’s degree in a relevant field (IT, engineering, supply chain management, business or equivalent) and experience as Solution Architect and/or Subject Matter Expert in international manufacturing environments and complex supply chains

  • Working with old/legacy systems that has been replaced by fewer/smarter tools
  • Hands-on knowledge across technologies like SAP and SAP ATTP, MES systems and PLC’sKnowledge of pharmaceutical serialization processes
  • Insights in specifying requirement to integrations across technologies, applications and systems
  • Understands the difference between ERP, MES and OT levels
  • Knows serialisation, RFID, Industry 4.0, robotics, vision control systems, GxP - GAMP and part 11
  • High level understanding with configurating Firewalls and Lan / Wan
  • Ability and desire to work with all levels of the organisation
  • Good supply chain understanding and excellent English language skills
  • A structured approach to complex issues and independent approach to creating solutions across the organisation
  • Ability to travel for up to 20 days per year
