Technical Manager, Finished Goods Production

Strong on structure, skilled in maintenance, and driven by data? We’re looking for a Technical Manager to keep Lundbeck’s packaging lines running at their best.

Your new role

As Technical Manager, you will lead the technical team responsible for the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of our packaging lines. Your mission is to ensure that all technical assets in Finished Goods Production run with optimal efficiency through a robust preventive and predictive maintenance setup — and that technical breakdowns are handled swiftly and effectively.

You will play a key role in developing our equipment strategy, driving performance through data and LEAN thinking, and collaborating closely with operations and engineering to secure uptime and cost efficiency. A visible presence on the shopfloor is essential — you will work hands-on with your team and colleagues to identify improvement opportunities, strengthen daily routines, and make sure good ideas turn into sustainable results.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the technical team supporting the packaging lines in Finished Goods Production
  • Ensure safe and compliant maintenance and technical operation of all packaging equipment
  • Drive preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives to minimize unplanned downtime
  • Analyze performance data, trends, and root causes to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Support troubleshooting and breakdown resolution in collaboration with production and engineering
  • Lead and contribute to technical projects, upgrades, and equipment investments
  • Strengthen technical documentation, maintenance plans, and spare parts strategy
  • Apply LEAN principles to enhance equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, and daily operations
  • Be a strong, visible presence on the shopfloor — engaging with technicians and operators to support problem-solving and continuous improvement
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and proactive problem solving.

Your future team

Finished Goods Production is part of Lundbeck’s Pharmaceutical Production organization, located in Valby, Denmark. You will lead a skilled team of 15 technicians, including 3 senior technicians and 2 apprentices.

It’s a strong and experienced team that takes great pride in keeping our packaging lines running smoothly and efficiently. The team is known for its collaborative spirit, technical know-how, and willingness to help each other succeed.

Our culture is open, supportive, and hands-on — we solve problems together, share knowledge freely, and continuously look for smarter ways to work. While we take our work seriously, we also enjoy spending time together — whether it’s during breaks, team lunches, or social events outside of work.

As their manager, you’ll join a tight-knit, dedicated, and high-performing group that truly cares about both the quality of their work and the people they work with.

What you bring to the team

We expect you to bring a strong combination of technical expertise, leadership capability, and a structured, analytical mindset:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or similar technical background)
  • Solid experience from packaging manufacturing.
  • Deep understanding of packaging line technology, automation, and maintenance principles
  • Proven success with preventive and predictive maintenance systems
  • Experience working with LEAN methodologies and continuous improvement tools (e.g. 5S, root cause analysis, standard work)
  • Strong analytical and structured approach to problem-solving and trend analysis
  • Experience with GMP and regulated production environments is an advantage
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and leadership skills
  • Fluent in Danish and English.

The position is based in Valby, Denmark.
