Technician – Department of Cell Biology

Lundbeck Neuroscience is looking for a technician highly motivated by the outlook of discovering new treatments for diseases in the central nervous system.

The Neuroscience research organisation represent Biological Research at Lundbeck. The main responsibility is to identify and validate drug targets, develop and support drug discovery with cell and animal-based readouts needed for compounds or biologics to be developed into drug candidates and to develop strong translational packages. The organisation is divided into 4 departments; Physiology and Symptoms, Circuit Biology, Signal Transduction and Cell biology. Disciplines represented in the organization range from molecular and biochemical techniques to in vivo electrophysiology and animal behavioural work.

The position will be based in the Department of Cell Biology, consisting of 10 scientists, 9 technicians as well as PhD and master students. The overall focus in the department is on molecular and cellular mechanisms important for brain diseases with current focus on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases, Schizophrenia and Depression.

Your job and key responsibilities

As a technician you will be working closely together with one scientist but also collaborate broadly with other scientists and technicians across the department.  An important part of the job will be to generate and work with primary rodent neuronal cultures to support our projects including new target identification, target validation, molecular and cellular understanding of disease pathologies and mode-of-actions of potential drugs.

You will also work with immortalized cell cultures and genetic manipulation and subcloning of these to support a mechanistic understanding of new potential targets. Both primary and immortalized cell cultures will be analysed with a panel of different molecular techniques. Finally, you will also be involved in analysis of brain tissue from in-vivo experiments.

We offer
