Technician – Department of Cell Biology
Lundbeck Neuroscience is looking for a technician highly motivated by the outlook of discovering new treatments for diseases in the central nervous system.
The Neuroscience research organisation represent Biological Research at Lundbeck. The main responsibility is to identify and validate drug targets, develop and support drug discovery with cell and animal-based readouts needed for compounds or biologics to be developed into drug candidates and to develop strong translational packages. The organisation is divided into 4 departments; Physiology and Symptoms, Circuit Biology, Signal Transduction and Cell biology. Disciplines represented in the organization range from molecular and biochemical techniques to in vivo electrophysiology and animal behavioural work.
The position will be based in the Department of Cell Biology, consisting of 10 scientists, 9 technicians as well as PhD and master students. The overall focus in the department is on molecular and cellular mechanisms important for brain diseases with current focus on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases, Schizophrenia and Depression.
Your job and key responsibilities
As a technician you will be working closely together with one scientist but also collaborate broadly with other scientists and technicians across the department. An important part of the job will be to generate and work with primary rodent neuronal cultures to support our projects including new target identification, target validation, molecular and cellular understanding of disease pathologies and mode-of-actions of potential drugs.
You will also work with immortalized cell cultures and genetic manipulation and subcloning of these to support a mechanistic understanding of new potential targets. Both primary and immortalized cell cultures will be analysed with a panel of different molecular techniques. Finally, you will also be involved in analysis of brain tissue from in-vivo experiments.
We offer
The opportunity to join a team of highly qualified and experienced colleagues that are on a quest of making new innovative medicines. We share a workplace with an open, science-driven, collegial and collaborative atmosphere. We focus on teamwork and individual professional development and you will be part of a global and specialized pharmaceutical company with approximately 5,000 employees specialized in psychiatric and neurological disorders.
Qualifications
Our preferred candidate has the following professional and personal qualifications:

- Solid experience in working with standard molecular techniques such as western blotting, qPCR and immunofluorescence staining
- Experience with microscopy will be an advantage
- Strong organisational skills to simultaneous handle and report multiple ongoing experiments
- Passionate about working in a dynamic research environment with quickly changing tasks
- Strong collaborative and team-playing skills and actively seeking dialogue with colleagues to improve our departmental interactions
