Description

The Value Evidence department is composed of highly engaged experts in the field of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) and Real-World Evidence (RWE), anchored in the Medical Affairs organization in Global Research & Development. We are looking for a Value Evidence Specialist Lead with a can-do personality, strong technical and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to learn and work in a dynamic environment. This position is based at Lundbeck headquarters in Copenhagen (Valby) and will report to the Director and Head of Value Evidence Analytics. Your job

The Value Evidence Specialist reports to the Director and Head of Value Evidence Analytics, Medical Affairs, and is responsible for the design and execution of HEOR studies to optimize product positioning, secure and defend access, as well as monitor patient safety. You will have the ability to work on the whole suite of health economics and real-world evidence tools. You will have the ability to translate your technical skills into actionable insights for the brand. You will identify the appropriate methodologies and approach to support key strategic imperatives. Ideally, your technical expertise will help shape the strategy by identifying feasible and impactful analyses. You will work closely with the brand Global Value Evidence Lead who is in charge of the value evidence strategy for Lundbeck’s assets. The Value Evidence Specialist works in a matrix organization working closely with various global functions/groups within Medical Affairs (Medical Strategy and Communication, Patient Insights, Compliance), Commercial (Global Pricing and Market Access, Marketing), Regulatory Science and Strategy, Clinical Development, Global Patient Safety, as well as all Key Affiliates.

 

Key responsibilities

The responsibilities will vary on the stage of the product lifecycle but will include:

  • Build or adapt health economics deliverables (indirect treatment comparisons, cost-effectiveness models, budget impact models)
  • Input to the design of experiments (e.g. randomized clinical trials, RCT, or patient registries) with a particular focus on the analysis of payer-relevant endpoints
  • Perform analyses of efficacy, safety and PRO endpoints to generate payer evidence in collaboration with Real World Evidence/ Value Leads and other Global functions (e.g. real-world evidence and post-hoc RCT)
  • PRO scale validation (classical, item-response theory approaches…)
  • Perform exploratory analyses on RCT and modelling to obtain further knowledge from the data
  • Perform exploratory analyses and modelling to obtain further knowledge from data (both RCTs and RWD)
  • Contribute effectively in external meetings, conferences and relevant Lundbeck meetings
  • Contribute to stakeholders’ appreciation of Lundbeck as a leader in the Brain Diseases area and as a financially, socially and environmentally responsible company
  • Keep abreast of current methodology and practice relevant for Value Evidence

 

Qualifications

  • At least a Master’s degree in statistics, econometrics or quantitative disciple; a PhD would be a plus
  • Ideally 8+ years (5+ with PhD) of hands-on experience in health economics research gathered either from academic or industry roles
  • Knowledge in a variety of quantitative methodologies related to HTA and payer activities,
  • Deep understanding of clinical study and real-world datasets analyses
  • Ability to manage databases (merging, removal of duplicates…)
  • High proficiency in R/SAS; Experience in WinBugs is a plus
  • Ability to clearly communicate needs to colleagues from different functions and science underlying all Value Evidence Analytics contributions
  • High energy, aptitude to work well as a member of team
  • Be a reliable partner (incl. timely delivery, quality) to ensure a seamless execution of the strategy
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, to develop credibility with colleagues within and outside Value Evidence, and to influence decisions 
  • Evidence of successfully working in a multi-disciplinary team is an essential requirement.
  • Good organizational and communication skills, to effectively interact with academic experts as well as internal company stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity in a fast-moving matrixed work environment
  • Fluency in English both oral and written, excellent verbal and written communications skills, with strong inter-personal skills.
