We want to be creative and collaborative partners in making transformative therapies with optimal benefit - risk available to patients.

We are now hiring for a new role as Vice President, Global Medical Safety to lead our Global Medical Safety groups of 34 highly skilled MDs and scientists across our three key sites in Denmark, US, and Singapore.

Our preferred candidate is an inspiring leader with a quality mindset and extensive knowledge in pharmacovigilance and innovative drug development across and beyond the ICH regions. You have worked with both investigational products and approved medicines, and you bring a profound experience and interest in Clinical Safety. You have been actively involved in NDAs and MAAs, including Advisory Committees.

Your job and key responsibilities

As Vice President, Global Medical Safety, you set the direction for the Global Medical Safety organisation, including core medical / scientific safety disciplines, like safety surveillance, signal detection, and risk management. Your responsibility extends from ‘first-in-man’, throughout the full drug (and drug-device) development period, and until the end of the product lifecycle. You report to the Senior Vice President, Head of Global Patient Safety and Chief Medical Officer at Lundbeck, and you are a core member of the GPS Leadership Team as well as cross-functional governance bodies, such as the Clinical Trial Protocol Review Committee and the Safety Board.

You will be based at our offices in Valby, Copenhagen where you will work in close collaboration with the GPS Leadership team and other stakeholders within GPS and across Divisions in Lundbeck at large.

We offer

You will work in a highly dedicated, professional, and international environment where English is the working language. You will have an opportunity to influence both your own development and the further direction for GPS as a strategic key function in a rapidly evolving area of the pharmaceutical industry. We strive to be a learning organization where we continuously learn from each other and encourage diversity and openness in discussions.

We offer attractive benefits, such as lunch, sports facilities, flexible working conditions, health insurance and personal development opportunities.

Qualifications

A background as M.D., Ph.D. or equivalent is a basic requirement.

We expect you to bring comprehensive experience from the pharmaceutical industry in a high-level international scientific leadership role in Pharmacovigilance and Medical Safety. Experience from working with different drug modalities, and knowledge from drug - device development, are important added advantages.

You naturally assume leadership of your groups as well as your own development and the responsibilities assigned to you. Personal integrity, good communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills are needed.

Global Patient Safety (GPS) is a Division within Research & Development responsible for the safety of patients using our investigational products and approved medicines. Our organisation is built on the backbone of a solid and compliant PV system and includes several functions, e.g., Safety Technologies, Safety Data Management, Business Support, Projects & Partnering in addition to Global Medical Safety and the people responsible for local patient safety in our affiliates.
