SUMMARY

The Business Insights Analyst provides support across multiple functions within Business Insights, with primary focus on Forecasting and Marketing Analytics. The incumbent’s primary responsibility is to assist in conducting analyses and managing projects which drive value for the organization. Depending on the needs of the business, this role could be focused within a specific Business Insights function for a set period of time or work across multiple functions simultaneously. The value brought by this role includes business analysis insights which influence decision making and project management to ensure successful execution of key initiatives. The incumbent will provide immediate value to the organization while also gaining experience across multiple functions which positions them well for future growth and development within Lundbeck. The position reports to the Associate Director, Forecasting & Analytics but will work closely with and receive day to day guidance from multiple others across Business Insights.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Forecasting

  • Assists with product forecasts by applying multiple forecast methodologies, including epidemiology based and TRx based modeling, to establish sales forecasts for in-line products as well as business development and life-cycle management opportunities
  • Assists in life cycle management and pipeline assessments/ forecasts
  • Assists in the communication of actual results for in-line products versus forecast
  • Assists in the project management of forecast cycles to ensure key stakeholders are providing input and reviewing key information
  • Assists in development and delivery of stakeholder presentations for US and Global leadership
  • Under the guidance of a manager:
    • Conducts monthly and quarterly demand and financial performance analysis
    • Completes analyses to define forecast assumptions and inputs
    • Works with and collaborates with the global forecasting team in the development of all U.S. forecasts
    • Partners with brand teams and other internal functions in the development and communication of forecasts

Marketing Analytics

  • Assists in measuring effectiveness of marketing tactics through developing and tracking brand KPIs, measuring ROI of specific tactics, conducting market mix analysis, etc.
  • Assists in allocation of promotional materials such as samples, savings cards, and vouchers
  • Under the guidance of a manager:
    • Conducts multiple analyses to report brand performance on a weekly, monthly, and/ or quarterly basisWorks with Rx and patient data to develop insights for brand management which impact brand decisions such as HCP targeting, patient profile development, design of promotional tactics, etc.
    • Contributes to periodic business reviews to assess brand performance and make decisions on future plans of action
    • Participates in meetings with marketing teams to discuss brand objectives, strategy, tactics, and performance
    • Helps cross-functional partners understand performance reporting and ad hoc analyses

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of direct industry (pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical) or 2+ years consulting business experience with quantitative analytics or financial focus, OR Master’s Degree in relevant analytical field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of forecasting, descriptive analytics, etc. techniques and best practices
  • Comfort and experience working on cross-functional teams in multi-functional projects/programs
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, taking initiative and working independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical subject matter experts
  • Ability to establish detailed timelines and ensure milestones are achieved
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of advanced analytics, statistics, etc. techniques and best practices
  • Knowledge of HCP prescriber level data, anonymized patient longitudinal data, etc.
  • Previous experience with analytical software applications such as SAS, R, etc.

 

TRAVEL / WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Willingness / ability to travel up to 10% of domestically.  International travel may be required.
