This is a remote position:  Open to candidates anywhere in greater United States

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a part of the growing Digital Transformation Office, the Data Engineer works closely with the data scientist and business partners to drive Digital Transformation and support Lundbeck’s advanced analytics initiatives. Areas of expertise include data preparation, cloud-based data management, and the data development lifecycle.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage data preparation (cleaning, transforming, stitching), deployment, and maintenance
  • Develop and maintain the data engineering pipelines required to support the needs of modeling and analytics
  • Define and maintain reusable data development patterns, engineering standards, version control, and data frameworks
  • Support and represent the team in architectural discussions and decisions focusing on data aggregation, data flows, deployment strategies and governance
  • Contribute to effective scaling of digital pilot initiatives
  • Work closely with data scientist and business partners to take defined needs and bring them from ideation to working pilots and deliverables.
  • Act as a change agent: Pursue process improvements and respond to Lundbeck’s vision for digital transformation.
  • Foster a continuous learning mindset, both related to personal development, and taking responsibility for team growth and adaptation to changing business needs.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree
  • Regulated industry experience
  • Extensive job-related SQL experience 
  • Understanding of database and cloud architectures
  • Knowledge of development languages (e.g., Python, R)
  • Job related experience in source control (e.g., Git, DevOps)
  • Familiar with Agile Development and Delivery
  • Job related experience with cloud-based data storage and warehousing
  • Passion for continuous learning and promoting digital transformation 
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • Passion for innovation with a test and learn mindset

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • 5+ years of experience working in a data focused position
  • Certification(s) in related technical areas
  • Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle

 

TRAVEL:

  • Infrequent travel may be required

 

The range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the states of Colorado and Connecticut, if selected for this role, and may vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. Salary Pay Range: $110,000 - $130,000 and eligibility for a 10% bonus target based on company and individual performance, and eligibility to participate in the company’s long-term incentive plan.
