As a part of the growing Digital Transformation Office, the Data Scientist works closely with key personnel in Sales, Marketing and Business Effectiveness to drive Digital Transformation and support Lundbeck’s advanced analytics initiatives. Areas of expertise include machine learning, artificial intelligence, and analytical insights.



  • Build, test, and refine data science strategies, machine learning algorithm and models
  • Work hands-on to develop modeling approaches and refinement of strategies
  • Generate insights through analysis of the customer journey
  • Provide expertise into analytical insights to help develop personalized content and solutions that can be used at the brand and affiliate levels
  • Define and implement scalable, automated model monitoring tools
  • Work with business team members to define quantifiable performance indicators and translate complex data into an easily digestible format for the business
  • Leverage cloud-native services to meet computational resource needs and external solution integrations
  • Assume ownership of the data and technical solution and collaborate on end-to-end development including data preparation (cleaning, transformation, engineering), modeling, deployment, and maintenance
  • Act as a change-maker: Pursue process improvements, foster a continuous learning mindset, and positively influence innovation and expertise building at Lundbeck
  • Adhere to best practices and help to shape algorithmic ethics for the organization



  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence approaches
  • Experience in Python and/or R
  • Experience in machine learning technologies and tools
  • Passion for continuous learning and promoting digital transformation 
  • Self-Starter who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • Passion for innovation with a test and learn mindset

  • Master’s degree
  • Certification(s) in related technical areas
  • 5+ years’ technical experience
  • Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Awareness and experience with Healthcare data (e.g., Claims, patient-level, sales data, etc.)



  • Infrequent travel may be required
  • This position will be based in the Deerfield location
