POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director Field Enablement to join our Commercial Excellence team. This role offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact our innovative strategies for equipping our sales forces with the essential knowledge and skills to achieve outstanding commercial performance. The Director will collaborate closely with sales leadership and other leaders to identify the training and leadership development needs of our commercial teams and oversee the execution and implementation of these programs. Additionally, the Director will be instrumental in assisting in the execution of our Leadership Development program aimed at enhancing the capabilities and performance of our coaches.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high-performing field enablement team to drive sales effectiveness, enhance field readiness, and support strategic business goals. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members to develop capabilities and drive engagement.
- Design and execute a comprehensive commercial training strategy that aligns with business objectives and supports the growth of sales, market access, and broader commercial capabilities.
- Drive the creation of innovative, impactful, and data-driven training programs that integrate industry best practices and elevate capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the biopharma sector.
- Lead a team in the continuous enhancement of training materials by integrating the latest industry trends, sales methodologies, and adult learning principles. Ensure all programs remain relevant, impactful, and engaging for learners.
- Spearhead strategic alignment and collaboration across cross-functional teams to oversee the planning and execution of training logistics for high-impact sales events, including launch initiatives, national and leadership sales meetings, and POA sessions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, medical affairs) to ensure alignment between commercial strategy, training, and overall business goals.
- Collaborate and partner with the commercial field team, including the Sales Advisory Board, internal subject matter experts, and field-based trainers to develop customized content based on needs analysis of current and future strategic imperatives
- Leverage data analytics to assess the effectiveness of training programs, using insights from key performance indicators (KPIs) such as salesforce productivity, customer engagement, and revenue growth to inform strategic improvements and business decisions.
- Lead the design and deployment of field enablement tools and resources that empower the sales team and other field teams to achieve performance goals, ensuring alignment with business strategy and leveraging data insights to drive continuous improvement while ensuring all materials and programs meet Lundbeck’s compliance standards.
- Continue to be at the forefront of commercial strategy and training innovation by actively tracking advancements in sales methodologies, adult learning science, and biopharmaceutical industry trends to design forward-thinking, impactful training solutions.
- Accountable for effectively managing budget and timelines.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:
Requirements:
- Accredited Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree
- 10+ years of commercial experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
- Previous people management experience leading teams
- Experience in leadership development, incorporating adult learning theory, practices, and methodologies into the creation of training materials
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical market, customer needs, and sales processes.
- Experience in developing and implementing data-driven sales and other commercial training programs.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with ability to influence and inspire others.
- Proven ability to help develop and lead teammates with or without managerial authority.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and learning management systems (LMS)
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:
- 4+ years of experience in a training leadership role
- Biopharmaceutical experience in specialty products, including biologics
- Proven successful experience leading and developing a training team or Sales teams
- Knowledge of Instructional Design, Curriculum/Learning Technologies or related Courseware Authoring, and Distance Learning Platforms.
- Experience building training content, product modules and facilitator materials
- Planning, project management, budget management, vendor management, and product launch experience
TRAVEL: - Willingness/Ability to travel up to 30% domestically. If based remotely, additional travel will be required to Deerfield, IL (overall travel up to 50% domestically). International travel may be required
The range displayed is a national range, and if selected for this role, may vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s geographical location, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Salary Pay Range: $220,000 - $255,000 and eligibility for a 25% bonus target based on company and individual performance, and eligibility to participate in the company’s long-term incentive plan.
