Responsible for supporting the implementation, communication, and administration of the organization’s compensation and benefits programs and policies.  Researches and recommends programs that are in alignment with overall human resources and company strategic objectives, as well as legal requirements, through competitive analysis, market research, and benchmarking.  Identifies and implements tools and resources for program administration with a focus on developing, standardizing, and improving processes, procedures, and reporting capabilities.



  • Provides guidance and counsel to HR Business Partners, managers, and employees on the requirements and provisions of compensation and benefit programs, leave programs and assists with resolution of problems.
  • Manages, interprets and administers leave programs and policies (STD, LTD, FMLA, ADA) in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws.
  • Oversees Leave of Absence administration activities of Global Business Services HR team, ensuring timely and accurate administration of these programs as well as ensuring pay accuracy.
  • Reviews job descriptions for both new and existing positions and determines position classification and appropriate salary range, STI, and LTI.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and HRBPs to ensure the consistency and equity in pay practices for new hires and internal promotions/job changes.
  • Manages the annual compensation review cycle and quarterly promotion review cycles.
  • Analyzes plan designs and recommends employee benefits and compensation programs with a focus on optimizing employee understanding, acceptance, interests, costs, regulatory requirements, and competitive advantage
  • Collects, benchmarks, analyzes, summarizing and makes recommendations for changes based on employee benefit and compensation data and trends. Completes annual and ad hoc compensation surveys.
  • Monitors eligibility, limitations, and restrictions of benefit plan participation and ensures compliance with both plan provisions and government requirements
  • Administers Long Term Incentive program including oversight of annual and interim grant processes executed by the Global Business Services HR team.
  • Acts as primary contact with assigned third-party vendors and consultants to ensure quality and efficiency of delivery of our benefit programs. Leads implementation of new vendors as assigned.
  • Oversees administration of COBRA compliance.
  • Creates and updates open enrollment communications.
  • Collaborates with HRIS on continuous improvement and implementation of technology to streamline and automate compensation and benefits processes and programs.
  • Provides necessary data to Finance to assist with compensation program cost accruals.
  • Provides M&A support to ensure benefit and compensation programs are properly integrated.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.



  • Accredited Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience in benefits and compensation program development and administration or Associate's Degree with 10 years of experience in benefits and compensation program development and administration or high school diploma/GED with 15 years of experience in benefits and compensation program development and administration.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel (VLookUp, Pivot Tables, Formulas)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements (i.e., ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, IRS, ADA, Section 125 regulations, 5500, Health Care Reform, Workers Compensation, Medicare, Social Security, DOL, FLSA)
  • Clear, precise and effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to deal with benefits/compensation matters in a confidential, objective and professional manner
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and exercise sound judgment.  High degree of professionalism
  • Results driven with ability to operate independently and proactively
  • Proven ability to establish rapport and work across all levels of organization and cultivate relationships to include HR Business Partners, Global Business Services, Legal and Finance
  • Ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously with regularly adjusting priorities
  • Proven analytic and business skills
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations in computing rates, premiums and adjustments
  • Must be open to change and new information and ideas and adapt to same
  • Must demonstrate cross cultural understanding and strong cross cultural communication skills to operate in a global, matrixed organization
  • Must encourage and foster cooperation and teamwork

  • Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field with an emphasis in business or finance
  • Professional certifications (CCP, CEBS, PHR, etc.)
  • Knowledge in financial/business analysis techniques
  • Experience actively managing Leave of Absence programs
  • Experience working with and benchmarking Life Sciences/Specialty Pharmaceutical Organizations
  • Experience with Success Factors, BenefitFocus and/or Ceridian Payroll



  • Willingness/Ability to travel up to 10% domestically. International travel may be required.
