The Sales Training and Development Manager is primarily responsible for managing the product training associated with one product in Lundbeck’s neurology portfolio. This position will be responsible for creating and delivering sales training curriculum to the field sales organization. This position is expected to liaise effectively with Marketing, Sales, Market Access and Business Effectiveness team members to develop a sales training strategy and approach for supported brands. This position will also need to seek input from these functions to prioritize initiatives which will ultimately improve sales force effectiveness. In addition to training, this position will help develop and implement sales, marketing, leadership development and commercial initiatives as needed. This position may be involved with budget management, vendor management, providing oversight to Area Field Trainer projects, as well as creating and executing the organization’s training and development plan. Finally, this position ensures that all promotional activities are in accordance with operational guidelines and aligns initiatives with Lundbeck’s core values and actions.



  • Manages, designs and delivers sales training curriculum to the field sales organization focused on increasing understanding of disease state, product knowledge and/or selling skills.
  • Regularly assesses the sales force and sales management training needs by observing individual Account Manager performance/behaviors and collaborating with the appropriate functional areas.
  • Participates and leads in strategic projects designed to fulfill the needs of the field sales force.  These projects include continuous collaboration with all relevant support departments: Marketing, Clinical, Regulatory, IT, Sales Operations, Commercial Analytics, etc., and include but are not limited to new product launches, new marketing directives, new indication launches, new positioning directives, etc.
  • Analyzes and assesses training effectiveness to determine when revisions, enhancements, or new programs should occur, and receives recommendation/input from the team.  Provides input to Training Leadership.
  • Reviews department reports, sales trainee evaluations and any other reports that trainers are required to complete.
  • Develops and implements evaluations to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of training and provides metrics for management review.
  • Acts as main point of contact for Sales and Marketing teams regarding:
  1. day-to-day operations of training;
  2. the development of new training initiatives or supporting changes in direction of existing training initiatives.



  • Accredited Bachelor's degree
  • CNS sales or training experience
  • Minimum five (5) years in the pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech or healthcare industry
  • Ability to develop and facilitate training classes and workshops
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in individual and team settings, across multiple functions and stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (e.g. Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Excellent strategic planning, organization and execution skills



  • Accredited Master’s/MBA
  • Product or sales management experience
  • Project management experience
  • Prior neurology experience preferred
  • Product launch experience (either sales or training) is preferred



  • Willingness/Ability to travel up to 20% domestically. International travel may be required.
