SUMMARY
The Senior Business Insights Analyst provides support within Business Insights, with primary focus on Forecasting and Project Management. The incumbent’s primary responsibility is to assist in conducting analyses and managing projects which drive value for the organization. In addition, the incumbent will begin to take on some individual management responsibility for select project work. The value brought by this role includes business analysis insights which influence decision making and project management to ensure successful execution of key initiatives. The incumbent will provide immediate value to the organization while also gaining experience across multiple brands which positions them well for future growth and development within Lundbeck. The position reports to the Director, Commercial Forecasting but will work closely with and receive day to day guidance from multiple others across Business Insights.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Forecasting
- Assists with product forecasts by applying multiple forecast methodologies, including epidemiology based and TRx based modeling, to establish sales forecasts for in-line products and life-cycle management opportunities
- Assists in life cycle management, pipeline assessments/ forecasts, and business development
- Assists in the communication of actual results for in-line products versus forecast
- Assists in development and delivery of stakeholder presentations for US and Global leadership
- With limited direction;
- Conducts monthly and quarterly demand and financial performance analysis
- Completes analyses to define forecast assumptions and inputs
- Works with and collaborates with the global forecasting team in the development of all U.S. forecasts
- Partners with brand teams and other internal functions in the development and communication of forecasts
Project Management
- Assists in developing project management processes to be leveraged across Business Insights (e.g., workspaces, content management, stakeholder management)
- Assists in the project management of forecast cycles to ensure key stakeholders are providing input and reviewing key information
- Assists in project management for business development opportunities to ensure appropriate knowledge transfer to in-line/LCM product forecasts
- Participates in planning sessions across Business Insights to increase collaboration across the team and help to establish processes that would help the team deliver strong support to the brands teams
- Help to deliver monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting to ensure appropriate stakeholders are involved
- Assist in the identification of areas where reporting and communication can be streamlined and deliver the highest value to the stakeholders
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Accredited Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of direct industry (pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical) AND / OR healthcare consulting business experience with quantitative analytics, financial, and/ or project management focus
- OR Master’s Degree with 2+ years of direct industry (pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical) AND / OR healthcare consulting business experience with quantitative analytics, financial, and/ or project management focus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of forecasting, descriptive analytics, etc. techniques and best practices
- Comfort and experience working on cross-functional teams in multi-functional projects/programs
- Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, taking initiative and working independently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical subject matter experts
- Ability to establish detailed timelines and ensure milestones are achieved
- Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
PREFERRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- MBA or master’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science preferred
- Pharmaceutical industry experience
- Knowledge of advanced analytics, statistics, etc. techniques and best practices
- Knowledge of HCP prescriber level data, anonymized patient longitudinal data, etc.
- Previous experience with analytical software applications such as SAS, R, etc.
TRAVEL
- Willingness / Ability to travel up to 10% of domestically. International travel may be required.
