The purpose of this position is to lead and develop the Digital Operations function for Lundbeck US Commercial.  This position will lead Digital Operations projects and coordinate activities with brand teams, Agencies, Marketing Operations and the Digital Solutions (external) team. This position will draft policies and procedures, provide consultative support to brand teams, as well as lead a team of contractors that will be responsible for the development and maintenance of digital assets on a common technology platform. This position will also guide the Digital Solutions team and align internal and external stakeholders on key processes and systems to support digital marketing business objectives while ensuring compliance within the pharmaceutical industry.



  • Serves as the strategic subject matter expert in multichannel marketing, web, and email marketing
  • Sets clear vision and guiding principles for the Digital Solutions team to support the commercial digital strategy and goals
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners of all levels to gather requirements and lead the digital solutions team through the digital development lifecycle
  • Provides a consultative approach; partnering with internal brand teams and external agencies to identify opportunities and risks
  • Partners with internal analytics team to report on digital data integration and reporting
  • Provides strategic insights and ensures the existing set of marketing automation tools evolve around the ever-changing digital landscape
  • Develops metrics and reporting on operational performance and process; adjusting business process to maximize performance while maintaining compliance
  • Provides oversight to ensure alignment with business goals and long-term objectives for the digital program
  • Hosts periodic engagement governance reviews to review overall engagement health and progress against goals and benefits
  • Provides overall strategy and tactical plans to the digital services partner for operations planning
  • Provides demand forecast for various tactics planned by the brands for capacity planning, staffing and technology resource planning (e.g. tools, licenses, data etc.)
  • Coordinates onboarding for creative and digital agencies and conducts necessary onboarding/training sessions for the agencies on processes, expectations and inform way of working in decoupled digital services partner
  • Ensures the digital service partner receives timely and necessary inputs such as creative brief, creative package and other work products required for digital projects
  • Monitors overall risks and SLA compliance
  • Act as point of escalation for engagement level issues and risks
  • Coordinates MLR approvals on work products delivered by the digital production partner
  • Provides final approvals/sign-offs on deliverables submitted by digital services partner
  • Aligns internal and external partners on operational processes and procedures ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Manages the digital solutions budget and contracts
  • As needed, provides input, facilitation and/or leadership for cross-functional digital strategy initiatives, especially those related to or including technology platforms
  • Performs other related duties as assigned



  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years of experience in an evolving Digital Marketing/Operations role
  • Prior vendor management experience
  • Experience implementing and/or managing marketing technology platforms
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to interface with all levels and functions of Lundbeck employees, external partners, vendors, customers, agencies and affiliates
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and working with multi-functional teams
  • Basic understanding of the laws and regulations that govern digital marketing



  • Prior pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Prior people management experience
  • Brand marketing or sales experience
  • Prior experience in marketing operations/marketing communications, or marketing services
  • Direct experience working with Medical, Regulatory, and Legal review process



Willingness/Ability to travel up to 15% domestically. International travel may be required.
