The Senior Market Research Manager will be responsible for the planning, budgeting, direction, decision-making, and execution of all marketing research initiatives in support of the brand commercialization strategy.  This role encompasses all phases of research along the brand’s lifecycle continuum, including launch preparation, tracking, segmentation, positioning, recall, brand equity, and life cycle management assessment.  Additionally, the selected candidate will provide occasional support to other brands if/when necessary and will be called on to lead non-branded research efforts and business development research when needed.



  • Provides thought leadership and subject matter expertise in market research to Lundbeck.
  • Works closely with Marketing and Sales leadership to proactively lead the development of market research plans/projects that are aligned with business goals and strategies.
  • Collaborates with peers in the Business Insights group to bring primary research findings and secondary data analyses together.
  • Leads the entire market research process, including research design, sampling strategy, data collection, data analysis plan, providing key learnings and making recommendations aligned to business objectives.
  • Provides research such as conjoint, payer insights, pricing strategy, positioning, and message testing necessary to support business cases for LCM and/or BD opportunities.  
  • Ensures continuous alignment and strategic partnership with Marketing, Sales, and Executive Leadership.
  • Participates in strategic brand planning process each year. Develops and executes market research plans and budgets in support of brand strategy and tactics. Provides feedback during the planning process on appropriate market research projects in alignment of brand strategy.
  • Provides high level of evidence based guidance for Marketing, Sales, Clinical, Forecasting, and Business Development.
  • Manages research vendors from RFP solicitation to selection to relationship maintenance to budgeting.
  • Effectively communicates key research insights to multiple audiences throughout the company.
  • Provides mentoring and coaching to other researchers on the team.
  • Thrives both as an individual contributor as well as a collaborative partner and know when to flex each option.
  • Manages the needs of internal stakeholders.


  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree 
  • 7+ years qualitative and/or quantitative market research experience
  • 5+ years pharmaceutical, medical device or biotech market research, brand marketing, sales, or other commercial leadership experience
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and build consensus
  • Experience managing projects to completion
  • Demonstrated relationship development with the ability to work effectively both independently or within a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, namely Word, Excel, and PowerPoint             


  • Advanced degree, including MBA, MS, or Pharmacy degree
  • Previous product launch experience
  • CNS research experience within the assigned therapeutic area
  • Knowledge of secondary data sources


  • Willingness/Ability to travel up to 20%.  International travel may be required.
