SUMMARY: 

The Social Media Manager serves as point person for Lundbeck’s work in social media; oversees the daily management of Lundbeck’s social media platforms, including the @LundbeckUS Twitter handle, Lundbeck US LinkedIn page and Facebook pages; and captures analytics to assess campaign effectiveness. The role is responsible for achieving organizational excellence in social media by ensuring consistency across all company social media platforms and employee use of social media. With an eye towards strategy and driving corporate reputation and brand objectives, the incumbent will keep the company apprised of emerging social media opportunities and recommend approaches to pursue. This position will (or manage an agency/consultant to) create content, secure regulatory and legal approvals, post content, as well as monitor social media platforms, moderate and respond to comments, and report adverse events as they arise. This individual should be very comfortable posting and managing campaigns natively on various social platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and also via social media tools, including Sprinklr. This individual will liaise with various internal teams, to align social media activities with company and brand goals; and will provide governance structure for how Lundbeck engages with external audiences via social media.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversees the strategy and daily management of Lundbeck’s social media platforms, including the @LundbeckUS Twitter handle, Lundbeck US LinkedIn page, and Facebook pages
  • Serves as point person for ensuring excellence in social media and addressing questions across the organization about Lundbeck’s social media activities
  • Plays an active role in planning and setting strategy as it relates to social media activities that will help drive corporate reputation and brand/therapeutic area objectives; serve as counselor to brand teams in the development of brand-specific social activities
  • Advises the organization to pursue new opportunities in social media; keeps a pulse on the changing social media landscape and shares key updates with relevant stakeholders in the organization
  • Oversees full integration of and ongoing management of social media content and analytics tool(s)
  • Oversees the Public Affairs team’s outreach to key online influencers (KOIs) to maximize the reach of our messaging through the KOI’s social channels
  • Develops thoughtful content that engages Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook communities, including:
    • Playing a primary role in developing strategy and coming up with new tactical ideas to enhance our social media platforms
    • Developing monthly Facebook editorial calendars that include a variety of posts that ladder up to brand objectives and inspire our audiences to take action
    • Developing Twitter and LinkedIn editorial calendars that help establish Lundbeck as a leader in brain disorders
    • Monitoring our social media platforms to ensure comments and private messages are responded too appropriately and in a timely manner
    • Recommending and implementing strategies for recruiting new followers; fostering loyalty across social media properties
    • Consistently tracking progress and course-correcting as necessary
  • Manages the paid promotional strategy on Twitter, LinkedIn and Public Affairs-managed Facebook pages to enhance the reach of our posts and target the appropriate audiences
  • Drives the collection of analytics and reporting results in a timely fashion to internal stakeholders, working closely with agency partners as appropriate
  • Leads the social media working group, that governs, has awareness of and creates protocols for all of Lundbeck’s social media activities and programming
  • Helps educate other teams about the benefits of social media and ensures it is used appropriately and within the company’s SOP for social media
  • Provides support for additional digital platforms, including Lundbeck’s U.S. corporate website, corporate Instagram page and corporate YouTube channel

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:

  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience in social media/digital communications
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to work well as a member of an integrated team, yet can also work independently with limited oversight
  • Strong interpersonal skills

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, social media or public relations
  • 1-2 years of experience in social media communications in the healthcare field

 

TRAVEL

Willingness/ability to travel up to 10% domestically. International travel may be required.
