The Sr Dir US Brand Marketing is responsible for 1) leading customer marketing strategy and promotional plans that will drive exceptional business growth through personal and non-personal channels, 2) develop and execute new digitally enabled marketing capabilities, 3) leadership of a customer marketing team across the end-to-end customer journey. The Sr Dir, US Marketing is responsible for driving clear brand strategy, measuring impact and adjusting investments to calibrate to optimal performance. Demonstrating strong leadership behaviors including inspiring, developing, and driving a high performing team. As part of the growth and evolution of the organization, we are seeking a candidate who can grow into broader organizational responsibilities in the coming years.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Vision and Strategic Leadership
- Lead the evolution and execution of the brand, either in line or pipeline, strategy and promotional plan, based on key insights and measurement of promotional performance
- Partner with key cross functional leadership partners most notably Medical Affairs, Analytics and Commercial Operations, and Sales Leadership to execute all key brand and program initiatives
- Measure and drive performance of all brand investments and initiatives while connecting the impact to the overall brand performance narrative
- Oversee brand positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies in conjunction with the overall brand strategy.
- Responsible for evolution of brand strategy for short, mid, and long-term growth and achievement of brand financial goals
- Monitor trends and benchmark activities, integrating emerging marketing solutions with consideration for business/customer needs and evolve strategy over time to meet the changing landscape
- Responsible for setting the prioritization of marketing initiatives in line with business objectives and ensuring these initiatives provide maximum return on investment
- Act as an ambassador, promoting the company’s mission and vision both internally and externally. Build strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare providers, media outlets, and external partners to enhance company presence.
- Proactively integrates payer and market access needs into marketing strategy.
Marketing Capabilities and Processes
- Lead ongoing evolution of brand marketing strategy and promotion including capabilities to ensure that brand growth goals are met
- Foster and drive an accountability and performance-based culture and mindset within BU and cross functionally
- Lead efforts to incorporate strategic, business ownership mentality within marketing and with cross functional partners
- Direct and monitor operational performance with the marketing team
- Partner with Advanced Analytics, review budgets and performance metrics and take actions necessary to drive performance to meet designed business goals for the brand
- Clearly define design standards and processes for brand planning, and embed within the annual brand planning cycle
- Ensure all marketing materials and campaigns are compliant with healthcare regulations, industry standards, and ethical guidelines, maintaining the company’s reputation for integrity and trust

Leader of People
- Serves as a member of marketing leadership team
- Leadership of marketing team of 2-4 direct reports
- Collaborates with a diverse group of stakeholders, including key senior leaders across the organization to represent and align BU marketing priorities and strategy
- Establishes clear expectations, sets objectives and collaborates to bring cross-functional teams together to drive urgency and prioritization of key initiatives.
- Develops, manages and empowers a team of marketers who design and support the execution of programs that drive growth and propel business objectives at a customer segment and/or product/service level
- Ensures employees are provided with coaching and development to maximize business results and personal growth, so that employees feel engaged and committed to Lundbeck and our patients
- Proactively develops talent and ensures the organization has the required capabilities to achieve current and future business objectives
- Champions a high performing culture of curiosity, adaptability and accountability
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:
- 12+ years of biopharmaceutical commercial experience (i.e sales, marketing, or market access)
- 8+ years of brand marketing experience, including HCP, consumer, payer, omnichannel strategy, and digital transformation
- 3+ years of experience in people leadership and developing high-performing teams
- Proven expertise in marketing strategy, including developing transformative marketing strategies, planning, execution, and analytics
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations
- Enterprise mindset focused on delivering measurable and sustainable business outcomes
- Demonstrated relationship management, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Track record of influencing across the organization to drive results and business growth
- Experience in developing and managing business analysis for strategic planning and initiatives, including identifying key issues, evaluating competitive market trends, tracking results, and formulating recommendations for leadership
- Strong executive presence and presentation skills
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:
- Strong Preference to be based in Deerfield, IL Office (Hybrid schedule)
- Accredited MBA or Master's Degree
- Launch experience
- Commercial functional knowledge
- Media planning and management experience to achieve ROI targets
TRAVEL
- Willingness/Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time is required. Travel is primarily domestic, but occasional international travel is required.
- If based remotely, additional travel will be required to Deerfield, IL, to meet the needs of the role and the business
The range displayed is a national range, and if selected for this role, may vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s geographical location, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Salary Pay Range: $265,000 - $305,000 and eligibility for a 30% bonus target based on company and individual performance, and eligibility to participate in the company’s long-term incentive plan.
