The Senior Manager, Corporate Communications manages the corporate communications strategy to build employee engagement and increase alignment with and execution of corporate strategic priorities. The individual in this role will: lead the company’s internal communication strategies and vehicles (including company intranet and bi-weekly newsletter); manage culture-related efforts to achieve a high performance culture; and support executive communications efforts to promote organizational effectiveness.



  • Educate, Inform and Enhance Engagement to Drive Business Results
  • Manages and oversees the strategic direction of internal communication and employee engagement strategies. Fosters alignment and adherence to corporate communications guidelines across North American organization to ensure effective, clear and timely communications.
  • Manages editorial content for bi-weekly newsletter.
  • Creates, develops and implements strategic departmental and companywide communications to drive employee understanding and action, to promote transparent and cohesive engagement, including sensitive organizational announcements and updates.
  • Identifies and introduces innovative tools to enhance two-way communication and shared learning (Yammer, electronic forums, etc.).
  • Drives intranet communication strategy to ensure valuable and fresh information and an easy-to-navigate site. Oversees all North American intranet content creation and manages accuracy of site content resources.
  • Manages culture-related programs to foster meaningful touchpoints for employees to strengthen their connection to Lundbeck’s Purpose and Beliefs.
  • Manages quarterly town hall meetings, Power Hours and other internal events.
  • Partners with patients to bring their story to life and to help employees understand the critical nature of our work.
  • Develops and manages strategies and implements programs/tools to drive involvement of and engagement with key Lundbeck programs (e.g. Walk the Talk, Right Direction).
  • Oversees and advises work performed by direct reports to ensure exectution of key deliverables.
  • Coaches and actively develops direct reports.
  • Manage Executive Communication to Align Employees on Strategy and Priorities
  • Acts as strategic counselor to senior leadership to deliver internal content that drives and aligns with company objectives.
  • Creates ongoing messages on key business intitiatives for managers to gain important information about the business to better lead their teams and align employees with our strategy.
  • Creates annual goals materials to build aspirational vision for the future of Lundbeck North America and to clearly define the goals and vision so that people believe it and can act on it throughout the year.
  • Ensures leadership is attuned to the voice of the employee. Conducts frequent surveys to analyze communication attitudes, preferences, progress and creates action plan to address, including working directly with senior leaders to understand employee feedback and deliver appropriate communications to address.
  • Provides proactive strategic counsel and execution of leadership presentations at major company meetings and external speaking engagements.



  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years of Communications-related experience
  • Ability to provide strategic counsel and influence senior leadership, as well as build strategic relationships across the business
  • Experience leading team projects or initiatives
  • Expertise in developing communication strategy, key messages and tactical execution plans
  • Self-starter, able to work well as a member of an integrated team, but also works independently with limited oversight to meet performance goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Solid ability and familiarity with Microsoft Suite and web-based tools



  • Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, English, Journalism or related field
  • Communications experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare
  • Prior people leader experience
  • Communications-related pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Ability to work well under pressure, and effectively prioritize
  • Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed deadlines



  • Willingness/Ability to travel 5-10% domestically. International travel may be required.
