We are currently looking for a qualified Specialty Representative, Neurology to join the Lundbeck Canada Sales team. This position is permanent full-time for territory V102 – Edmonton & Saskatchewan. The employee will report to the National Sales Manager, Neurology.

 

 

Specialty Representative, Neurology

 

Your Position:

As part of our National Sales team, the Specialty Representative, Neurology, must be passionate, courageous, responsible, ambitious and patient driven in order to achieve the business goals and sales objectives of the Lundbeck Canada. The Specialty Representative, Neurology, reports to the National Sales Manager, Neurology.

You are expected to immediately forward any reports of adverse events or special situations on our products as well as any product complaints or counterfeit or suspected counterfeit medicine to Medical Information and Pharmacovigilance (canadamedicalinformation@lundbeck.com) as per training on current procedures.

 

Achievement of Sales objectives (50%)

  • Achieve territory sales objectives for all Lundbeck promoted products in neurology.
  • Achieve reach and frequency of actions as per the business plan and objectives - including visibility on the ground —as established by the sales and marketing team for each cycle.
  • Fully understand and promote neurology, including migraine, Lundbeck neurology products and services to hospitals, clinics, and doctors, using sales cycle promotional material in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Build and maintain relations with clients (doctors, nurses, and business partners); identify their needs; inform them about Lundbeck’s high-quality products.
  • Keeps up to date on the competition's products and scientific advances for the treatment of migraine.

 

Business Planning (25%)

  • In accordance with the national strategic plan, develop a business plan and identify and implement key tactics to maximize selling efforts, to optimize growth opportunities and achieve sales objectives in their territory and nationally.
  • Manage activity territory budget to optimize reach and targeted customer interaction.
  • Continuously gather insights in territory through interactions with customers and adapt tactics to drive growth.
  • Collaborate with sales team members and other departments -including marketing, medical, market access teams and sales colleagues- to offer tailored solutions and maximize neurology product(s) potential and sales.
  • Prepare and analyze each visit and call as per the procedure in place (pre-call planning, SMART objectives, post-call analysis) with the goal of moving customers along the adoption ladder.
  • Be an active contributor to help improve and optimize international, national, and regional training and business activities.
  • Stay abreast of competing products and scientific developments for treating migraines.
  • Attend company meetings and the main industry conventions.

 

 Medical Education Activities (20%)

  • Effectively implement needs-based, certified programs (CHEs) and other learning activities (OLAs) as per cycle plan of action and follow up to optimize impact.
  • Work closely with the Medical Science Liaison and Medical Education teams to identify educational opportunities and develop advocacy in territory.
  • Ensure compliance with and respect for ethical rules in all learning activities implemented with customers
  • Manages the promotion and continuing medical education budgets allocated to its territory.

 

Administration and Corporate Compliance (5%)

  • Update and maintain the key customer target list by entering accurate prescribing information, mailing and contact addresses, call history, current call activity; and future visit or call planning.
  • Use the CRM (Customer Relations Management system) to ensure that field activities are captured and documented.
  • Use the sales and performance report system (KPIs) to optimize your performance across the territory.
  • Use of the company’s expense reporting system in a timely manner.
  • Satisfy Lundbeck Canada process and business needs in a cost-efficient and timely manner.
  • Must stay updated at all times on and abide by Lundbeck Canada’s legal and compliance procedures.

 

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences or business administration
  • A minimum of five (5) years of sales experience in the Canadian pharmaceutical industry and with experience in neurology
  • Strong understanding of hospital business, migraine clinics and other health centers and influence mapping
  • Proven track record of promoting products and managing clients in a knowledge-intensive sector; experience working with neurologists a significant asset
  • Strong business acumen and business analytical skills
  • Fluent in English and French an asset (required in Quebec)
  • Familiar with the use of technology (iPad, apps, CRM, etc.) including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, ect.)
